4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safe and effective operation of the assist arm. Ensure your tire changer is compatible with a right-side assist arm attachment.

4.1 Mounting the Assist Arm

  1. Identify the designated mounting point on the right side of your tire changer's main column.
  2. Attach the assist arm's mounting bracket to the tire changer using the provided hardware. Ensure the bracket is securely fastened. Refer to Figure 4.1 for typical installation dimensions.
  3. Verify that the mounting dimensions (e.g., 60mm width, 100mm height) match the available space on your tire changer.
  4. Connect the pneumatic hose from the assist arm to the air supply port on your tire changer. Ensure all connections are tight and free of leaks.

5. Operating Instructions

The assist arm is designed to simplify the process of mounting and demounting tires, especially low-profile and stiff sidewall tires.

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Ensure the tire changer is powered on and the air supply is connected and active.
  2. Position the tire on the tire changer's turntable.
  3. Use the control switch (refer to Figure 5.1) to move the double-wheel concave pressing tool up or down.
  4. Adjust the height of the assist arm so the pressing tool is positioned correctly to engage the tire bead. The arm is adjustable to optimize performance (see Figure 5.2).
  5. During demounting, use the pressing tool to hold down the upper bead while the duck head dismounts the lower bead. The double-wheel design allows the tool to follow the tire contour (see Figure 5.3).
  6. During mounting, use the pressing tool to keep the lower bead in the drop center while the upper bead is mounted.
