1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient use of your BBRKIN TBG01 Depository Drop Safe. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure proper functionality and security. Keep this manual for future reference.

2. Safety Information

  • Always keep backup keys in a secure location away from the safe. Do not store them inside the safe.
  • Ensure the safe is securely mounted to prevent unauthorized removal.
  • Do not expose the safe to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  • Change the factory default password immediately after initial setup.
  • Keep the electronic keypad dry and clean.
  • The safe is not water-resistant. Avoid placing it in areas prone to water exposure.
  • Do not attempt to force the safe open if the electronic lock fails. Use the backup key.

4. Product Overview

5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the safe from its packaging. Inspect for any damage. Retain packaging for future transport if needed.

5.2 Battery Installation

The electronic keypad requires four AA batteries (not included). Open the safe using the backup key. Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the door, usually behind a small panel secured by a screw. Install the batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment.

5.3 Mounting the Safe

For maximum security, it is recommended to mount the safe to a wall, floor, or cabinet using the provided mounting hardware.

  1. Choose a suitable location for mounting.
  2. Open the safe door. Remove the felt lining from the bottom to expose the pre-drilled holes.
  3. Mark the drilling points on the wall or floor through the holes in the safe.
  4. Drill pilot holes using an appropriate drill bit for your mounting surface.
  5. Position the safe and secure it using the provided bolts and anchors. Ensure all bolts are tightened firmly.
  6. Replace the felt lining.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Initial Password Setup

When first powered on, the safe typically has a default password (e.g., "159"). It is crucial to change this immediately.

  1. With the door open, press the red reset button located on the inside of the door. The display will show "SET".
  2. Enter your new 3-8 digit password on the keypad.
  3. Press the "#" key to confirm. The display will show "DONE".
  4. Test the new password with the door open before closing it.

6.2 Opening the Safe with Electronic Keypad

  1. Enter your 3-8 digit password on the keypad.
  2. Press the "#" key. The display will show "OPENED".
  3. Within 5 seconds, rotate the handle clockwise to open the door.

6.3 Opening the Safe with Backup Key

In case of battery failure or forgotten password, use the backup key:

  1. Locate the keyhole cover on the keypad panel.
  2. Remove the cover.
  3. Insert the backup key and turn it counter-clockwise.
  4. Simultaneously rotate the handle clockwise to open the door.

6.4 Using the Deposit Slot

The top deposit slot allows for quick and secure deposits without opening the main safe door.

  1. Pull the deposit drawer forward.
  2. Place items (cash, envelopes, etc.) into the drawer.
  3. Push the drawer back into the safe. Items will drop into the main compartment.

6.5 Closing and Locking the Safe

Close the safe door and rotate the handle counter-clockwise until it is fully engaged. The safe will automatically lock.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Replacement

When the battery power is low, the keypad display may show a low battery indicator. Replace all four AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Use the backup key if the batteries die completely before replacement.

7.2 Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
