2. Assembling the Shaft and Handle
- Connect the engine unit to the straight shaft. Ensure the connection is secure and the locking mechanism engages properly.
- Attach the U-shaped handle to the shaft. Adjust its position for comfortable operation, then tighten the securing bolts.
- Route the throttle cable along the shaft and connect it to the throttle trigger on the handle. Ensure smooth operation of the trigger.
3. Installing the Safety Guard and Cutting Head
- Mount the safety guard onto the lower part of the shaft, above the cutting head area. Ensure it is securely fastened and positioned to deflect debris away from the operator.

4. Fuel Preparation
This trimmer uses a 2-stroke engine and requires a specific fuel mixture. Use unleaded gasoline mixed with 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 25:1 (Gasoline:Oil). Use a clean fuel container for mixing.
- Pour the correct amount of 2-stroke oil into the fuel container first.
- Add the corresponding amount of unleaded gasoline.
- Securely close the container and shake gently to mix thoroughly.
- Carefully pour the mixed fuel into the trimmer's fuel tank using the provided funnel. Do not overfill.
Note: Always use fresh fuel mixture. Do not store mixed fuel for extended periods (more than 30 days) as it can degrade and cause engine issues.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your TOLUON gas string trimmer.
1. Pre-Operation Checklist
- Ensure all fasteners are tight and components are securely attached.
- Check fuel level and ensure the correct 25:1 mixture is used.
- Inspect the cutting line or blade for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE): eye protection, gloves, long pants, sturdy shoes, and hearing protection.
- Clear the work area of any obstacles, debris, or bystanders.
2. Starting the Engine (Recoil Start)
- Place the trimmer on a flat, stable surface.
- Set the choke lever to the "CLOSED" or "START" position (usually indicated by a symbol).
- Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible in the return line.
- Hold the trimmer firmly with one hand on the handle. With the other hand, pull the starter rope slowly until resistance is felt, then pull sharply and quickly. Repeat until the engine attempts to start or fires once.
- Once the engine fires, immediately move the choke lever to the "OPEN" or "RUN" position.
- Pull the starter rope again until the engine starts and runs smoothly. Allow it to warm up for a few moments.
- If the engine does not start after several pulls, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
3. Operating the Trimmer
- Attach the shoulder strap and adjust it for comfortable weight distribution.
- Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands on the U-shaped handle.
- Engage the throttle trigger to increase engine speed and activate the cutting head.
- Maintain a steady, sweeping motion when trimming. Avoid striking hard objects like rocks, fences, or concrete.
- For string trimming, use the tip of the line to cut. For blade cutting, use the appropriate part of the blade for the material.
- Always keep the safety guard between you and the cutting head.
- Release the throttle trigger to reduce engine speed and stop the cutting head.

4. Stopping the Engine
To stop the engine, release the throttle trigger and move the engine stop switch to the "OFF" position. Allow the cutting head to come to a complete stop before setting the trimmer down.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your trimmer. Always disconnect the spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.
1. After Each Use
- Clean the exterior of the trimmer with a damp cloth. Remove any grass, dirt, or debris from the engine cooling fins and cutting head.
- Inspect the cutting line or blade for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Check all nuts, bolts, and screws for tightness.
2. Air Filter Maintenance (Every 10-15 hours of operation)
- Remove the air filter cover.
- Carefully remove the air filter element.
- Clean the filter by tapping it gently or washing it with warm, soapy water. Allow it to dry completely.
- If the filter is heavily soiled or damaged, replace it with a new one.
- Reinstall the clean/new air filter and cover.
3. Spark Plug Maintenance (Every 25-30 hours of operation)
- Remove the spark plug cap.
- Use a spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug.
- Inspect the spark plug for carbon buildup or electrode wear. Clean with a wire brush or replace if necessary.
- Check the electrode gap and adjust if needed (refer to specifications for correct gap).
- Reinstall the spark plug and tighten it securely, then reattach the spark plug cap.
4. Fuel System and Storage
- Before long-term storage, drain the fuel tank completely or run the engine until it runs out of fuel. This prevents fuel degradation and carburetor issues.
- Store the trimmer in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
