2. Important Safety Information
Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Keep children and bystanders away. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection and sturdy footwear. Never operate the mower in wet conditions or without the grass bag, discharge chute, or mulch plug properly installed. Disconnect batteries before cleaning, maintenance, or when the mower is unattended.
3. Setup
3.1. Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts listed in the packing list are present and undamaged. Dispose of packaging materials responsibly.
3.2. Handle Assembly
Unfold the handle into the operating position. Secure the handle using the quick-release levers or knobs provided. Adjust the handle height to a comfortable position for operation. The handle features adjustable height for user comfort.
3.3. Battery Installation
Open the battery compartment cover. Insert two fully charged M18 REDLITHIUM HD12.0 batteries into the designated slots until they click into place. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Starting the Mower
To start the mower, ensure the batteries are installed and the safety key (if applicable) is inserted. Press and hold the safety button, then pull the bail lever towards the handle. The mower will start. Release the safety button once the motor is running.

4.2. Self-Propelled Function
The mower features rear-wheel self-propulsion with active speed management, allowing speeds from 0 to 4 MPH. Use the speed control lever on the handle to adjust the desired pace. Engage the self-propel bail lever to activate the drive system.
4.3. Cutting Height Adjustment
Adjust the cutting height using the single-point height adjustment lever. This offers 7 positions with a 1-inch to 4-inch height range. Select the appropriate height for your lawn conditions.

4.4. Grass Management Modes
The mower offers 3-in-1 grass management: mulching, bagging, and rear side discharge. Choose the desired method based on your lawn care needs.
- Mulching: For returning fine grass clippings to the lawn as natural fertilizer.
- Bagging: For collecting grass clippings in the included bag.
- Rear Side Discharge: For expelling clippings out the side when mulching or bagging is not preferred.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Charging
Use the provided rapid charger to charge the M18 REDLITHIUM HD12.0 batteries. Ensure batteries are fully charged before each use for optimal performance and runtime.
5.2. Cleaning
After each use, clean the mower deck and blades to prevent grass buildup. Use a brush or cloth to remove debris. Do not use water directly on electrical components. Always remove batteries before cleaning.
6. Troubleshooting
If the mower does not start, check that the batteries are fully charged and properly inserted, and that the safety key is in place. Ensure the bail lever is fully engaged. For other issues, consult the full user manual or contact customer support.
