Installing the Alpine Base
Method 1: Installation Using Vehicle Seat Belt (ClickTight Technology)
The ClickTight system makes seat belt installation simple and secure.

- Position the Base: Place the Alpine base rear-facing on your vehicle seat. Ensure no more than 4.7 inches of the base hangs over the edge of the vehicle seat.
- Adjust Recline: Adjust the recline angle until the blue marker is completely visible within the indicator window.
- Open ClickTight: Grab the ClickTight handle, squeeze the button, and lift to open the compartment. The indicator window will turn green when fully open.
- Route Seat Belt: Pull the lap and shoulder parts of the vehicle seat belt across the base. Tuck both the lap and shoulder belts under the ClickTight mechanism and through the designated belt guides. Buckle the seat belt.
- Remove Slack: Gently remove any slack from the vehicle seat belt, ensuring it is not overtightened.
- Close ClickTight: Push down firmly on the ClickTight handle until you hear a click. The indicator window should now be entirely green.
- Test Tightness: The installed base should not move more than 1 inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

Method 2: Installation Using Lower Anchor Connectors (LATCH)
For vehicles equipped with LATCH anchors, you can use the lower anchor connectors for installation.

- Position the Base: Place the Alpine base rear-facing on your vehicle seat. Ensure no more than 4.7 inches of the base hangs over the edge of the vehicle seat.
- Adjust Recline: Adjust the recline angle until the blue marker is completely visible within the indicator window.
- Open ClickTight: Grab the ClickTight handle, squeeze the button, and lift to open the compartment. The indicator window will turn green when fully open.
- Access LATCH Connectors: Open the lower connector storage compartment. Remove and lengthen the connector straps, then close the lid.
- Attach Connectors: Tuck the connector strap under the ClickTight mechanism and through the belt guides. Press the lower connectors onto their adjacent lower anchors in your vehicle until you hear a click.
- Remove Slack: Pull gently on the end of the lower connector strap to remove any slack. Ensure the strap is not twisted.
- Close ClickTight: Move the connector strap to the side of the ClickTight locking point. Push down firmly on the ClickTight handle until you hear a click. The indicator window should now be entirely green.
- Test Tightness: The installed base should not move more than 1 inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
Attaching the Infant Carrier to the Base
Once the base is securely installed, attach the infant carrier:
- Align and Place: Align the infant carrier with the base and gently lower it until it clicks into place. Listen for a clear click to confirm secure attachment.
- Adjust Carry Handle: For use in a vehicle, the carry handle must be adjusted to a locked position. Britax recommends position 1 to help reduce rebound movement in a crash.
- Confirm Connection: Pull up on both sides of the seat handle to ensure the carrier is securely connected to the base.

Operating Your Infant Car Seat
Adjusting the Harness and Infant Inserts (RightSize System)
The RightSize System ensures a perfect fit for your growing baby:
- Harness Height: Adjust the harness straps so they are at or just below your child's shoulders when rear-facing.
- Crotch Buckle: Position the crotch buckle in the slot closest to your child without being underneath them.
- Infant Inserts: Use the plush harness padding and infant insert pillows for newborns and smaller infants. Remove them as your child grows and no longer needs the extra support.

Canopy Usage
The protective canopy provides shade and privacy:
