1. Introduction

The IKEA STARKVIND air purifier is designed to improve indoor air quality by filtering out airborne particles. It features both manual control and smart home integration capabilities, allowing for flexible operation. Its portable design makes it easy to move between different rooms.

2. Safety Information

4. Setup

4.1 Placement

Place the air purifier on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow. The integrated handle allows for easy relocation between rooms as needed.

4.2 Power Connection

Connect the power cable to the air purifier and then plug it into a suitable wall outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the requirements specified on the product label.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Manual Control

The STARKVIND air purifier can be operated manually using the control knob located on the top of the unit. Rotate the knob to select desired fan speed settings (1-5).

5.2 Auto Mode

Select "AUTO" mode on the control knob. In this mode, the air purifier's sensor automatically detects PM2.5 particles in the air and adjusts the fan speed accordingly to maintain optimal air quality. This mode ensures efficient operation without constant manual adjustment.

6. Smart Home Integration

For advanced control and monitoring, connect the STARKVIND air purifier to an IKEA TRÅDFRI gateway (sold separately). Once connected, you can manage the air purifier using the IKEA Home smart app.

6.1 Using the IKEA Home Smart App

  • Real-time Air Quality: View current air quality readings (PM2.5 levels) directly in the app.
  • Remote Control: Adjust fan speeds, switch modes, and turn the unit on/off from anywhere.
  • Scheduling: Set timers and schedules for the air purifier to operate automatically at specific times.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Filter Replacement

The STARKVIND air purifier uses a HEPA filter to capture particles. The filter needs to be replaced periodically to maintain optimal performance. Refer to the indicator light on the unit or the IKEA Home smart app for filter replacement reminders.

7.2 Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the air purifier with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.

8. Troubleshooting
