3. Installation Guide

Follow these steps to install your Zowill Smart Lock. A screwdriver is typically the only tool required.

3.1 Measure Dimensions

Ensure your door dimensions are compatible with the lock. Refer to the diagram below for measurements.

3.2 Install the Latch and Strike

Insert the latch into the door edge, ensuring the 'UP' marking is facing upwards. Secure it with the provided screws. Install the strike plate and strike box on the door frame.

3.3 Main Unit Installation

Connect the exterior and interior assemblies, feeding the cable through the door. Secure the mounting plate and then attach the interior assembly. Ensure the lock is correctly oriented for left or right-handed doors as per the app's quick set direction.

4. Initial Setup & App Control

After physical installation, configure your smart lock using the dedicated mobile application and G2 Gateway.

4.1 App Download and Initial Pairing

Download the Zowill app from your device's app store. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your lock. The master code will automatically change after pairing; customize it as instructed within the app.

4.2 Gateway Pairing for Remote Access

The G2 Gateway enables remote control and advanced features. Plug in the gateway and follow the app's instructions to pair it with your lock. Ensure your WiFi is 2.4G for compatibility.

4.3 Alexa Integration

Integrate your Zowill Smart Lock with Amazon Alexa for voice control. Open the Alexa app, enable the 'ScienerSmart' skill, and link your DDLock account. Set up voice codes for secure unlocking.

5. Operating Your Smart Lock

The Zowill Smart Lock offers various convenient ways to operate.

5.1 Multiple Unlocking Methods

Unlock your door using the mobile app, key fobs, a personalized passcode on the touchscreen keypad, or a traditional physical key. The lock also supports thumb turn from the inside.

5.2 Auto-Lock and One-Touch Lock

The lock can be configured to automatically lock after a set period (1-999 seconds). For immediate locking, simply press and hold the '#' button on the keypad for 2 seconds.

5.3 User Management and Access Logs

Through the app, you can easily manage up to 250 user codes, create temporary or permanent access, and view detailed access logs to monitor who enters and exits your property.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Zowill Smart Lock.

6.1 Battery Replacement

The lock requires 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included). The app will provide a low battery alert, and the keypad will also indicate low power. Replace batteries promptly to avoid interruption of service.

6.2 General Care

Clean the keypad and lock body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components. Ensure the lock is protected from extreme weather conditions.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Zowill Smart Lock, refer to the following common solutions.

7.1 How to Reset Your Lock

If your lock is not responding or you need to clear all settings, you can perform a factory reset. This will revert the lock to its default settings.

7.2 Common Issues

  • Lock not responding: Check battery levels. Ensure the interior and exterior units are properly connected.
  • Keypad not lighting up: Replace batteries.
  • Remote unlock not working: Verify G2 Gateway is powered on and connected to 2.4G WiFi. Check app settings for remote unlock permissions.
  • Incorrect passcode entry: Ensure you are entering the correct passcode. The anti-peep feature allows random digits before or after the actual code, but the correct sequence must be embedded.
