Setup Guide

1. Prepare for Installation

• Choose a Location: Select an outdoor location with a clear view of the area you wish to monitor. Ensure it is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
• Power Source: Ensure a power outlet is available nearby for the DC power adapter.
• MicroSD Card (Optional): If using local storage, insert a microSD card (up to 512GB, purchased separately) into the camera's slot before mounting.

2. Download the Tapo App

The Tapo app is required for camera setup and control.

1. Scan the QR code in the Quick Start Guide or search for "Tapo" in the App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Download and install the Tapo app on your smartphone or tablet.
3. Create a TP-Link ID or log in with an existing one.

3. Mount the Camera

Follow these steps for secure mounting:

1. Attach the mounting template to the desired installation spot.
2. Drill holes according to the template and insert the anchors.
3. Secure the camera's mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws.
4. Attach the camera to the mounted bracket.

4. Connect and Configure

1. Plug in the DC Power Adapter to the camera and a power outlet.
2. Wait for the camera's LED indicator to blink amber and green, indicating it's ready for setup.
3. Open the Tapo app, tap the "+" icon, and select your camera model (Tapo C500).
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network and complete the setup.

Operating Your Tapo C500 Camera

Live View and Pan/Tilt Control

Access the live feed and control camera movement through the Tapo app.

• Open the Tapo app and select your Tapo C500 camera.
• Use the on-screen joystick or swipe gestures to pan (horizontal 360°) and tilt (vertical 130°) the camera.

Motion Detection and Tracking
