Digital Zoom

The device supports 2x and 4x digital zoom. Use the designated zoom buttons (often marked with '+' and '-' or a magnifying glass icon) to magnify the thermal image. Note that digital zoom may reduce image clarity compared to optical magnification.

Thermal image zoom levels

Image: Comparison of thermal image zoom levels. This image shows four panels demonstrating the effect of 1x (Normal), 2x, 4x, and 8x digital zoom on a thermal image of a person, illustrating how magnification affects detail.

Color Palettes

The monocular offers 8 different color palettes to visualize thermal data. These palettes enhance contrast and highlight temperature differences, making it easier to identify targets in various environments. Common palettes include "White Hot," "Black Hot," "Red Hot," "Rainbow," and "Ultramarine." Refer to the device's on-screen menu for specific palette selection.

8 thermal color palettes

Image: Examples of 8 thermal color palettes. This image displays a grid of eight different thermal color schemes applied to an image of a deer, demonstrating how various palettes can emphasize different temperature ranges and improve object identification.

Detection Range

The GOYOJO CS-6 has a limit detection range of up to 2000 meters, making it suitable for observing targets at medium to long distances. The actual detection and recognition distances can vary based on environmental conditions and target size.

Video and Image Capture

The device is capable of capturing both still images and video recordings. Use the dedicated buttons (often marked with camera or video icons) to initiate and stop recording or capture a photo. Captured media can typically be reviewed on the device or transferred to a computer.

This video provides a visual guide to the physical features of the monocular, demonstrating its compact size, lens, and button layout. It also shows the device being used to observe a night scene, highlighting its effectiveness in dark environments and illustrating button functions for various settings.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics to clean the lenses. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. Gently wipe the lens surface to remove dust or smudges.

  • General Cleaning: Wipe the body of the monocular with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the device in water, despite its IP66 waterproof rating, unless specifically designed for such use. The IP66 rating indicates protection against powerful water jets, not continuous submersion.

  • Storage: Store the monocular in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided protective case or bag to prevent scratches and damage.

  • Battery Care: If storing for extended periods, remove the battery. Recharge the battery periodically to maintain its lifespan.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Low or dead battery; improperly installed battery.Charge the battery; ensure battery is correctly inserted.
Image is blurry or out of focus.Improper focus adjustment; dirty lens.Adjust the focusing wheel; clean the objective lens.
