5. Setup and Operation

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the NEEWER PP1. Always use a 5V USB wall charger (not included) with the provided USB-C cable.

  1. Connect the USB-C end of the charging cable to the Type C Charging Port on the PP1.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the charging cable to a 5V USB wall charger or a compatible USB power source.
  3. The LED battery indicators will illuminate to show charging progress. All four blue LEDs will be solid when fully charged.

5.2 Connecting Your Equipment

Follow these steps to connect the PP1 to your microphone and audio device:

  1. Ensure the PP1 is turned OFF before making connections.
  2. Connect your condenser or shotgun microphone to the XLR Input Terminal on the PP1 using an XLR cable.
  3. Connect the XLR Female Output of the PP1 to your mixer, audio interface, or recording console using another XLR cable.
  4. Select the appropriate voltage (48V or 12V) using the Voltage Selector switch, depending on your microphone's requirements. Most condenser microphones require 48V.
  5. Turn the Power Switch to ON. The LED battery indicators will light up, confirming the unit is active.

5.3 Battery Level Indication

The blue LED indicators provide an approximate battery level:

  • Four Blue LEDs: 75% - 100% charge
  • Three Blue LEDs: 50% - 75% charge
  • Two Blue LEDs: 25% - 50% charge
  • One Blue LED: Below 25% charge
  • Red LED: Below 10% charge, recharge immediately.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Keep the device dry. Do not expose it to moisture or rain.
