1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Scanner

Before initial use, fully charge the scanner. Connect the USB charging cable to the scanner's charging port and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.

3.2 Connecting the USB Receiver

  1. Insert the USB receiver into an available USB port on your desktop computer.
  2. The computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.

3.3 Pairing the Scanner

The scanner and receiver are typically pre-paired at the factory. If the scanner does not connect automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the trigger button for a few seconds until you hear a beep and the indicator light turns on.
  • To power off: Press and hold the trigger button for a few seconds until the indicator light turns off.

4.2 Scanning Barcodes

The HD7800 scanner can read 1D, 2D, and QR codes.

  1. Hold the scanner approximately 5-15 cm (2-6 inches) from the barcode.
  2. Aim the scanning beam directly at the center of the barcode.
  3. Press the trigger button. A successful scan will result in a beep and the data being transmitted to your connected device.

4.3 Wireless Range

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Scanner

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.

6.1 Scanner Not Responding

  • Receiver Connection: Ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged into the computer. Try a different USB port.
  • Re-pair: If necessary, re-pair the scanner with the receiver as described in Section 3.3.

6.2 Barcodes Not Scanning

  • Barcode Condition: Ensure the barcode is not damaged, smudged, or poorly printed.
  • Distance and Angle: Adjust the distance and angle of the scanner to the barcode. Try scanning from different positions.
  • Lighting: Ensure adequate lighting. Avoid direct glare on the barcode.
  • Scanner Window: Clean the scanner's reading window as described in Section 5.1.

6.3 Data Transmission Issues

  • Software Focus: Ensure the cursor is in the correct input field on your computer application.
  • Range: Move closer to the USB receiver to ensure you are within the operating range.
