1. Introduction
The pizarra BT-100U is a USB Cash Drawer Trigger designed to enable direct connection of a cash drawer to a computer via a USB port. This device eliminates the need for a printer or cash register to act as an intermediary, simplifying point-of-sale (POS) system configurations. It utilizes a virtual serial port driver, allowing existing software to communicate with the cash drawer as if it were connected to a standard RS232 serial port.

4.2 Driver Installation (Virtual Serial Port)
The BT-100U uses a virtual serial port driver. Upon connecting the device to your computer for the first time, the operating system should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. If automatic installation fails, you may need to manually install the driver from the manufacturer's website or a provided CD (if applicable).
- The driver makes the BT-100U appear as a standard RS232 serial port to your software.
- A unique serial number is assigned to each USB trigger module. The driver software will assign an available serial port (e.g., COM1, COM2) to each recognized device.
- Multiple BT-100U triggers can be used on a single computer, each assigned its own virtual serial port.
5. Operating Instructions
Once the BT-100U is connected and its drivers are installed, your existing POS software or application can communicate with the cash drawer. Configure your software to send commands to the virtual serial port assigned to the BT-100U (e.g., COM port). The cash drawer will open when the appropriate command is sent to this virtual serial port.
- Software Configuration: Access your POS software's peripheral settings. Select the virtual COM port assigned to the BT-100U for cash drawer control.
- Testing: Perform a test transaction or use the software's cash drawer test function to verify proper operation.
