Installation Instructions

The Passeal Hobart Q1 Gasket is designed for tool-less and easy installation. Follow these steps to replace your old gasket:

  1. Preparation: Ensure the refrigeration unit is turned off and the door is clean and free of debris where the gasket will be installed.
  2. Remove Old Gasket: Gently pull the old gasket away from the door frame. Most gaskets are held in place by a dart or spear that fits into a channel.
  3. Inspect Channel: Clean the gasket channel thoroughly to remove any dirt, food particles, or residue that could prevent a proper seal.
  4. Install New Gasket: Begin by pressing one corner of the new Passeal gasket firmly into the door channel. Work your way around the perimeter of the door, pressing the gasket's dart into the channel. Ensure a snug fit all around.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and inspection of your gasket will ensure its longevity and optimal performance.

  • Cleaning: Clean the gasket regularly with a mild soap and warm water solution. Use a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the gasket material.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the gasket for any signs of wear, tears, cracks, or hardening. Ensure the magnetic seal is still strong and that there are no visible gaps when the door is closed.
  • Replacement: If the gasket shows significant signs of damage or no longer provides an effective seal, it should be replaced promptly to maintain refrigeration efficiency.
