5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The device uses two AA NiMH rechargeable batteries (included). It can also operate with two standard AA alkaline batteries (not included).

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Insert the two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the ON/MEAS button.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the OFF button for a few seconds. The device also features an automatic shut-off function after 180 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.

6. Operating Modes

The Huepar S60-G offers a variety of measurement functions. Press the Function button (often indicated by a square icon) to cycle through the different modes.

6.1 Single Distance Measurement

Measures the linear distance between two points.

  1. Point the laser at the target.
  2. Press the ON/MEAS button once to activate the laser.
  3. Press the ON/MEAS button again to take the measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.

6.2 Continuous Measurement (Min/Max)

This mode allows for continuous distance tracking, displaying the minimum and maximum distances as you move the device.

  1. Select the continuous measurement mode.
  2. Press the ON/MEAS button to start continuous measurement.
  3. Move the device slowly towards or away from the target. The display will update in real-time, showing current, minimum, and maximum distances.
  4. Press the ON/MEAS button again to stop.

6.3 Area Measurement

Calculates the area of a rectangular space by measuring two sides.

  1. Select the area measurement mode.
  2. Measure the first side (length).
  3. Measure the second side (width). The device will automatically calculate and display the area.

6.4 Volume Measurement

Calculates the volume of a rectangular space by measuring three sides.

  1. Select the volume measurement mode.
  2. Measure the length.
  3. Measure the width.
  4. Measure the height. The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.

6.5 Pythagoras Measurement

Uses the Pythagorean theorem to calculate indirect distances (e.g., height of a building) based on two or three other measurements.

  • Pythagoras 1 (Two points): Measures two sides of a right-angled triangle to calculate the third.
  • Pythagoras 2 (Three points): Measures three points to calculate a height, useful for obstacles.
  • Pythagoras 3 (Three points): Another variation for complex height measurements.

6.6 Angle Measurement (Dual Angle Display)

8. Power Management

8.1 Battery Types

The device is powered by two AA NiMH rechargeable batteries. It can also be used with two standard AA alkaline batteries.

8.2 USB Charging

The included NiMH batteries can be recharged directly within the device using the provided USB Type-C cable. This allows for convenient charging from a power bank, computer, or USB wall adapter.

  • Connect the USB Type-C cable to the device's charging port.
  • Connect the other end to a suitable USB power source.
  • The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.

8.3 Auto Shut-off

To conserve battery life, the laser will automatically turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity, and the device will power off completely after 180 seconds of inactivity.
