1. Introduction

This versatile and functional piece of furniture is designed to enhance your kitchen space with its ample storage, adjustable shelving, and unique foldable countertop. It can serve as an additional workspace, a storage solution, or even a compact dining bar. Please read this manual carefully before assembly and use to ensure proper installation and safe operation.

2. Safety Instructions

• Always assemble the unit on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
• Ensure all parts and hardware are present before beginning assembly. Refer to the parts list.
• Do not overtighten screws during assembly, as this may damage the material.
• Keep small parts and packaging materials away from children and pets to prevent choking hazards.
• Do not stand or climb on the kitchen island.
• Distribute weight evenly on shelves and countertop. The maximum weight capacity for the countertop is 200 kg.

3. Package Contents

Your COSTWAY Kitchen Island is shipped in two separate boxes. Please ensure you have received both boxes before starting the assembly process. The detailed instructions are typically found in Box 1, and all necessary screws and hardware are in Box 2.

4. Assembly Instructions (Setup)

Assembly typically requires two people and takes approximately 2 hours. Follow the steps carefully.

Step 4.1: Unpack and Identify Parts

Carefully unpack all components from both boxes. Lay them out on a clean, soft surface. Identify each part by comparing it with the parts list in your instruction manual (from Box 1).

Step 4.2: Assemble the Main Cabinet Frame

Begin by connecting the side panels to the base and back panels using the designated screws and cam locks. Ensure all connections are secure but do not overtighten.

Step 4.3: Install Drawers

Assemble the drawer boxes according to the instructions. Attach the drawer slides to both the drawers and the cabinet interior. Insert the assembled drawers into their respective slots.

Step 4.4: Attach Cabinet Doors

Mount the hinges to the cabinet doors and then attach the doors to the main cabinet frame. Adjust hinges as needed to ensure proper alignment and smooth closing.

Step 4.5: Install Adjustable Shelves

Insert the shelf pins into the desired holes within the cabinet and side support sections. Place the adjustable shelves onto the pins. You can choose from 3 different height positions.

Step 4.6: Attach and Use the Foldable Countertop

Secure the main countertop to the cabinet. Then, attach the foldable extension and its metal folding supports. Ensure the supports are properly aligned for smooth operation.

5. Operating Instructions (Usage)

5.1: Using the Foldable Countertop

To extend the countertop, gently lift the foldable section and pull out the metal supports until they lock into place. To fold it down, release the locking mechanism on the supports and carefully lower the countertop until it rests against the main unit. This feature allows you to expand your cooking or dining space as needed, or save space when not in use.

5.2: Utilizing Storage

The kitchen island offers various storage options:

• Drawers: Use the two practical drawers for storing cutlery, utensils, or smaller kitchen gadgets.
• Cabinet: The two-door cabinet provides a large enclosed space for pots, pans, small appliances, or dry goods.
• Side Supports: The open side shelves are ideal for displaying cookbooks, spices, or frequently used items for easy access.

5.3: Adjusting Shelves

The shelves within the main cabinet and side supports are adjustable to three different height levels. To adjust, remove any items from the shelf, lift the shelf, remove the shelf pins, reposition the pins to the desired height, and then place the shelf back on the pins. You can also remove shelves entirely if larger items require more vertical space.

6. Maintenance and Care

• Cleaning: Wipe the surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For the rubberwood countertop, use a mild soap solution if necessary, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
• Spills: Clean up spills immediately to prevent staining, especially on the wooden countertop.
• Hardware: Periodically check all screws and fittings to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if loose to maintain stability and safety.
• Environment: Avoid placing the kitchen island in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can cause warping or discoloration of the wood.
