Open the lid on top of the brewer and slowly pour cold, fresh water into the reservoir until water begins to flow from the brew funnel. Close the lid. Allow approximately 15-20 minutes for the water to heat to the optimal brewing temperature.

2. Operating Instructions
- Prepare the Filter Basket: Place a BUNN 12-cup coffee filter into the brew funnel. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the filter.
- Position the Carafe: Ensure a clean, empty glass carafe is placed on the warming plate directly beneath the brew funnel.
- Add Water: Open the lid on top of the brewer. Slowly pour cold, fresh water into the reservoir. The amount of water added will determine the amount of coffee brewed. The brewing process will begin immediately as the cold water displaces the hot water in the internal tank.
- Brewing: Hot coffee will begin to flow into the carafe. Once the water has been added, close the lid. The brewing cycle typically takes about 3-4 minutes for a full carafe.
- Keep Warm: The warming plate will keep the brewed coffee at an ideal serving temperature. The switch on the front panel controls the lower warming plate.

3. Maintenance

- Daily Cleaning: After each use, discard used coffee grounds and filter. Wash the brew funnel and glass carafe with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the stainless steel exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can scratch the surface.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (scale) can build up in the brewer, affecting performance. Descale the brewer regularly, depending on your water hardness. Follow the descaling instructions provided with your descaling solution. A cleaning tool is typically included to clear the spray head.
4. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your brewer, refer to the following common solutions:
- No Coffee Brews: Ensure the brewer is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Verify that water has been added to the reservoir and the internal tank has had sufficient time to heat.
- Coffee is Not Hot Enough: Check that the brewer has been plugged in for at least 15-20 minutes to allow the internal tank to heat. Ensure the warming plate switch is in the 'ON' position if using the carafe warmer.
- Slow Brewing: Mineral buildup can restrict water flow. Perform a descaling procedure as outlined in the Maintenance section.
- Overflowing Filter Basket: Ensure you are using BUNN 12-cup coffee filters, which are designed to prevent overflow. Do not overfill the filter basket with coffee grounds.
