6. Operation
The VAYINATO Sobo WP-5001 filter is designed for continuous operation to maintain water quality. Once installed and powered on, it will begin its functions:
- Filtration: Water is drawn into the filter, passing through the media to remove debris and harmful substances.
- Water Circulation: The pump creates a steady flow of water, ensuring even distribution of temperature and nutrients.
- Oxygenation: If the air tube is connected, the filter will draw in air and release fine bubbles into the water, increasing dissolved oxygen levels. Adjust the air regulator for desired bubble intensity.
- Wave-making: The outflow design contributes to gentle water movement, simulating natural currents.

7. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of your filter. Perform maintenance at least once a month, or more frequently depending on your aquarium's bioload.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the filter from the power outlet before handling.
- Remove Filter: Carefully detach the filter from the aquarium glass and remove it from the water.
- Disassemble: Gently separate the motor head from the filter media container. Remove the filter sponges and any other media.
- Clean Filter Media: Rinse the filter sponges and media thoroughly with old aquarium water (from a water change) to preserve beneficial bacteria. Avoid using tap water directly, as chlorine can harm these bacteria.
- Clean Impeller: Remove the impeller cover and carefully extract the impeller. Clean the impeller and its housing with a small brush to remove any debris or mineral buildup.
- Clean Housing: Rinse the filter housing and other components with aquarium water.
- Reassemble & Reinstall: Put all components back together in reverse order. Ensure everything is securely fitted. Reinstall the filter in the aquarium and plug it back in.
