1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of your U.S. Pool Supply Octopus Cordless Handheld Pool Vacuum Cleaner. This rechargeable, two-speed vacuum is designed for debris removal in above-ground and in-ground pools and spas.

2. Safety Information

  • Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
  • Do not operate the vacuum out of water.
  • Ensure the charging port is dry before connecting the charger.
  • Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from moving parts.
  • Do not allow children to operate this appliance.
  • Operate within specified water temperature (39.2°F - 95°F / 4°C - 35°C) and depth limits (Min 16" / 0.4m, Max 10 ft / 3m).

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Ensure the vacuum unit is dry before charging.
  2. Connect the charger to the charging port on the vacuum unit.
  3. Plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet.
  4. Charge the battery for 2 to 3 hours for a full charge. The charging indicator light will confirm charging status.

4.2 Attaching the Vacuum Head

The vacuum features a 2-in-1 detachable head for versatile cleaning:

  • For broader debris collection: Attach the adjustable angle extra-large vacuum head with side bristles to the main unit. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  • For hard-to-reach areas: Use the vacuum without the large head. The small mouth opening is designed for cleaning angles of pool steps, corners, and around ladders.

4.3 Connecting to a Pole

The cleaner can be used with the included hand handle or a standard 1-1/4" diameter telescopic pole (sold separately). To attach a telescopic pole, slide the pole into the designated opening on the vacuum handle until it is secure.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Adjusting Suction Speed

  1. Ensure the vacuum is fully submerged in water before powering on.
  2. Press the power button to turn on the vacuum.
  3. The vacuum operates with a two-speed suction system:
    • Standard Mode: Provides 45 liters per minute (l/m) suction, suitable for general cleaning.
    • High Turbo Speed Mode: Provides 70 l/m suction, ideal for quicker and more efficient debris removal, especially in corners and steps. Toggle between modes using the speed selection button.
  4. After a full charge, the vacuum operates for approximately 60 minutes at standard speed and 45 minutes at high turbo speed.

5.2 Water Depth Requirements

For optimal performance and to prevent damage, operate the vacuum within the following water depth limits:

  • Minimum Water Depth: 16 inches (0.4 meters)
  • Maximum Water Depth: 10 feet (3 meters)

6. Maintenance

6.1 Dual Filtering System

The vacuum features a dual filter system for effective debris collection:

  • Micro-fine Particle Filter Cartridge: Designed to remove fine debris such as pollen, dust, sand, and silt.
  • Ultra Mesh Filter Screen: Located above the motor, this provides secondary filtering and collects larger leaves and debris. The cleaner has a 1.5 Liter filtering capacity for larger debris without the micro-fine particle filter.

6.2 Cleaning and Replacing Filters

  1. After each use, or when suction power decreases, turn off the vacuum and remove it from the water.
  2. Open the debris collection chamber.
  3. Remove the micro-fine particle filter cartridge and the ultra mesh filter screen.
  4. Rinse both filters thoroughly with a hose to remove all collected debris.
  5. Ensure filters are clean before reassembling.
  6. Replacement micro-fine particle filter cartridges are sold separately (Model: USP FCA-2).

7. Troubleshooting
