1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your vidaXL Solid Pine Wood Sideboard. This small sideboard or auxiliary cabinet is designed with a natural style, featuring three drawers with ample storage space. It also has a spacious top surface for placing books, photos, candles, plants, or other decorative items. Made from untreated, high-quality pine wood, it is recommended to treat the surface for enhanced durability and ease of cleaning. The elevated base protects the furniture and its contents from moisture and dirt.
2. Setup and Assembly
Assembly of this sideboard is required. Please ensure all components are present before beginning. A Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer (not included) may be necessary for assembly.
2.1 Unpacking and Component Check
- Carefully unpack all parts from the packaging.
- Verify that all hardware and wooden components are accounted for against the included parts list (not provided in this manual, refer to your product packaging).
- Inspect all parts for any damage. If any parts are damaged or missing, contact vidaXL customer support.
2.2 Assembly Steps
- Begin by assembling the main frame of the sideboard. Connect the side panels to the top and bottom panels using the provided fasteners.
- Install the drawer runners onto the side panels according to the pre-drilled holes. Ensure they are level and aligned.
- Assemble each of the three drawers. Attach the front, back, and side panels, then slide the bottom panel into place. Secure with fasteners.
- Insert the assembled drawers into the installed runners. Test for smooth operation.
- Attach the elevated base to the bottom of the sideboard.
- Install the anti-tip device to the back of the sideboard and secure it to a wall stud using appropriate hardware (not always included, check packaging). This is a critical safety measure to prevent tipping.

4. Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and preserve the appearance of your solid pine wood sideboard.
4.1 Wood Treatment
This sideboard is made from untreated pine wood. To enhance its durability, protect it from moisture, and make it easier to clean, it is highly recommended to treat the surface. You can use:
- Oil: Penetrates the wood, enhancing its natural grain and providing a protective layer. Reapply periodically.
- Wax: Creates a soft, protective sheen. Requires occasional reapplication.
- Lacquer or Varnish: Forms a hard, durable protective film on the surface, offering strong resistance to spills and scratches.
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for any wood treatment product you choose.
4.2 Cleaning
- For daily cleaning, wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the wood finish.
- Immediately wipe up any spills to prevent staining or water damage.
4.3 General Care
- Keep the sideboard away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent warping, fading, or cracking of the wood.
- Maintain a stable humidity level in the room to prevent wood expansion or contraction.
- Periodically check all fasteners and tighten them if necessary to ensure stability.

5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your sideboard.
5.1 Drawers Not Sliding Smoothly
- Check Alignment: Ensure the drawer runners are correctly aligned and securely fastened to both the drawer and the sideboard frame.
- Obstructions: Look for any objects or debris obstructing the drawer's path or the runners.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of silicone spray or wax to the drawer runners to improve smoothness.
- Overload: Reduce the weight inside the drawer if it is excessively heavy.
5.2 Sideboard Instability or Wobbling
- Check Fasteners: Ensure all screws and connectors used during assembly are fully tightened.
- Level Surface: Place the sideboard on a flat, level surface. Use shims under the base if necessary to stabilize it.
- Anti-Tip Device: Confirm that the anti-tip device is properly installed and securely anchored to a wall stud. This is crucial for safety.
5.3 Minor Scratches or Dents on Wood
- For minor scratches, a wood repair marker or furniture polish designed for pine wood can be used.
- Deeper dents may require light sanding and reapplication of your chosen wood treatment (oil, wax, varnish).
