4. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the cash register on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the cash register and then to a suitable power outlet (100-240V, 50/60Hz).
- Thermal Paper Installation:
- Open the printer cover.
- Insert the thermal paper roll, ensuring the paper feeds correctly from the bottom and the leading edge is straight.
- Close the printer cover, leaving a small amount of paper protruding.
- Key Insertion: Insert the provided key into the "ELECTRONIC CASH REGISTER" lock and turn it to the "REG" (Register) position for normal operation or "PRG" (Program) for programming.
- Cash Drawer Connection: Connect the 9V cash drawer cable to the designated port on the cash register.
- Initial Power On: Turn on the main power switch, usually located on the side or back of the unit. The display should light up.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Transaction Operation
To perform a basic sales transaction:
- Ensure the key is in the "REG" position.
- Input the price of the item using the numeric keypad.
- Press the corresponding Department (DP) key (e.g., DP1, DP2) to assign the item to a department.
- Repeat for additional items.
- Press "SUB-TOTAL" to view the subtotal.
- Enter the cash amount received from the customer.
- Press "CASH" to complete the transaction and open the cash drawer.

5.2 Programming Departments
To program department settings, including prices and tax items:
- Connect the cash register to a PC via the serial port.
- Open the management software on the PC (default password: 123456).
- Ensure the key on the cash register is in the "PRG" position.
- In the software, navigate to the "Department" section.
- Enter or modify the department details (ID, Name, Price, Tax Item, Status).
- Upload the updated data from the PC to the cash register.

5.3 Programming PLU (Price Look-Up) Items
There are two steps to programming PLU items:
Step 1: Enter Price and Department Assignment for PLU
- Turn the key to "PRG".
- Press the "X/time" key.
- Input the PLU number.
- Press "PLU".
- Input the fixed price.
- Press "DP 1" (or relevant department key) to assign the department.
- Press "PLU" again to print the programmed PLU details.

Step 2: Enter PLU Status and Department Assignment for PLU (not necessary for fixed price)
- Turn the key to "PRG".
- Press "PO".
- Input the PLU number to be programmed.
- Press "PLU".
- Enter the PLU status (0 for non-fixed price, 1 for fixed price).
- Press the relevant department key.
- Press "PO" again to print the programmed PLU details.

5.4 Programming VAT Rate
To set the Value Added Tax (VAT) rate:
- Turn the key to "PRG".
- Press "SUB-TOTAL".
- Enter the storage location (1, 2, 3, or 4).
- Input the VAT rate (e.g., 0.11 for 11%).
- Confirm by pressing "CASH".

5.5 Programming Clerk Passwords and Logging On/Off
To manage clerk access and passwords:
- Turn the key to "PRG".
- Press the number "4" six times.
- Press "CASH".
- Input a 7-digit clerk code (e.g., 1234567).
- Input a 1-digit clerk number.
- Input a 6-digit password.
- Press "CLERK".
- Press "CLEAR" to exit programming mode.
- To log on, turn the key to "REG", enter the 1-digit clerk number, and press "CLERK".
- To log off, turn the key to "LOCK".

5.6 Activating/Deactivating the Clerk System

6. Maintenance
