6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your NEEWER DL200 Motorized Camera Dolly, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the dolly's exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the dolly in its provided storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For extended storage, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50-60%) to maintain battery health. Recharge periodically if stored for long periods.
  • Wheel Inspection: Periodically check the wheels for any debris or obstructions that might affect smooth movement.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your NEEWER DL200, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Dolly not moving or unresponsive:
    • Ensure the dolly is powered on and fully charged.
    • Check app connection if using smartphone control.
    • Verify that no obstructions are blocking the wheels.
  • Linear motion shifts slightly:
    • This can occur after a certain distance. Fine-tune the front wheel in the opposite direction of the shift to correct the path.
    • Ensure the surface is perfectly flat and smooth, as uneven surfaces can cause deviations.
  • App connection issues:
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
    • Restart the dolly and the app.
    • Make sure the dolly is within Bluetooth range.
  • Time-lapse function not working:
    • Confirm that a compatible camera shutter cable is connected between your camera and the dolly (sold separately).
    • Check camera settings for external shutter release.
  • Unusual noise during operation:
    • While the motor is designed to be silent (under 30dB), ensure no foreign objects are caught in the wheels or motor mechanism.
    • Operating on rough surfaces can increase noise. Use on smooth floors and desktops only.
