5. Accessories Guide
5.1 EF-S 18-55mm STM Lens
This versatile zoom lens is suitable for a wide range of photography, from landscapes to portraits. The STM (Stepping Motor) technology provides smooth and quiet autofocus, beneficial for video recording.
5.2 Telephoto and Wide Angle Lenses
These auxiliary lenses attach to the front of your 18-55mm lens to extend its focal range. The telephoto lens magnifies distant subjects, while the wide-angle lens expands your field of view for broader scenes.
5.3 Filter Kit (UV-CPL-FLD)
- UV Filter: Protects the front element of your lens from dust, scratches, and UV haze.
- CPL (Circular Polarizer) Filter: Reduces reflections from non-metallic surfaces (water, glass) and enhances color saturation in skies and foliage.
- FLD (Fluorescent) Filter: Corrects the greenish cast often produced by fluorescent lighting.
5.4 Close-Up Lens Set (+1, +2, +4, +10)

Image: A set of four close-up lenses (+1, +2, +4, +10) designed for macro photography, shown with example images demonstrating their effect on focus distance.
These lenses allow you to focus closer to your subject, enabling macro photography. They can be used individually or combined to increase magnification. Attach them to the front of your primary lens.
5.5 Digital Slave Flash

Image: A digital slave flash unit attached to a camera via a bracket, illustrating its physical connection and position.
The slave flash can be mounted on the included bracket or directly to the camera's hot shoe. It triggers optically when your camera's built-in flash fires, providing additional illumination without a direct cable connection.
5.6 Lens Cleaning Pen & Kit

Image: A lens cleaning pen, featuring a retractable brush on one end and a carbon cleaning tip on the other, designed for safe lens maintenance.
Use the retractable brush to gently sweep away dust and loose particles from lenses and camera surfaces. For smudges or fingerprints, use the carbon cleaning tip or a microfiber cloth with a small amount of lens cleaning solution.
5.7 Lens Cap Holder

Image: A lens cap holder, consisting of an elastic band and an adhesive button, shown attached to a camera lens cap and wrapped around a lens barrel.
Attach the adhesive button of the holder to the front of your lens cap. The elastic band then stretches to fit snugly around your lens barrel or camera strap, preventing the lens cap from getting lost.
5.8 Tripod
The included 50" camera video tripod and tabletop tripod provide stability for your camera, essential for sharp images in low light, long exposures, or when using telephoto lenses. Ensure the camera is securely mounted before use.
5.9 Wireless Shutter Remote
Use the wireless remote to trigger the camera's shutter from a distance, minimizing camera shake and enabling self-portraits or group shots.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Camera Body: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry.
- Lenses: Use a blower brush to remove dust. For smudges, use a lens cleaning pen or a microfiber cloth with lens cleaning solution. Avoid touching the glass directly.
- Sensor: Sensor cleaning should be performed with extreme care. If dust spots persist on images, consider professional cleaning or use a specialized sensor cleaning kit following instructions precisely.
- LCD Screen: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
6.2 Battery Care
- Recharge the LP-E6N battery using the provided charger.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Avoid fully discharging batteries frequently to prolong their lifespan.
6.3 Storage
When not in use, store the camera and lenses in a dry, dust-free environment, preferably in a camera bag with desiccant packets to prevent moisture buildup.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera Not Powering On: Ensure the battery is charged and correctly inserted. Check the power switch position.
- Images Are Blurry: Verify that the lens is properly attached and the autofocus mode is appropriate for your subject. Check shutter speed to avoid motion blur, especially in low light.
- Memory Card Error: Reinsert the memory card. If the error persists, try a different card. Formatting the card (which erases all data) may resolve issues, but back up important files first.
- Flash Not Firing: Check flash settings in the camera menu. Ensure the slave flash has power and is correctly positioned to receive the optical trigger from the camera's built-in flash.
- No Image on LCD: Ensure Live View is activated. Check display settings.
