1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Epcom B8KITMIC TurboHD 1080p 4-Channel DVR Security Kit. This system is designed to provide reliable surveillance with high-definition video and integrated audio capabilities. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the equipment to ensure proper usage and optimal performance.

2. Kit Contents
The Epcom B8KITMIC kit includes the following components:
- 1 x S04-TURBO-G3H DVR (Digital Video Recorder)
- 4 x B8-TURBO-G2P/A Bullet Cameras with Integrated Microphones
- 1 x Power Supply for the 4 cameras
- 4 x Siamese Cables for video and power (18 meters in length each)
3. Setup
3.1 DVR Overview and Connections
Familiarize yourself with the DVR's ports before making connections. The DVR supports various video and audio inputs/outputs.

- Video and Audio Input: Connect the Siamese cables from the cameras to the corresponding video input ports (1) on the DVR. The audio from the cameras will also be transmitted via coaxitron through these connections.
- HDMI Port: Connect an HDMI cable from the DVR (2) to a monitor or TV for high-definition video output.
- VGA Port: Connect a VGA cable from the DVR (3) to a monitor for video output.
- Audio Output (RCA): For external audio output (4).
- Audio Input (RCA): For external audio input (5).
- USB and LAN Ports: The USB port (6) is for connecting a mouse or external storage. The LAN port (6) is for network connection to enable remote viewing.
- Power Input: Connect the DVR power adapter to the power input port (7).
- Ground: Connect to a proper ground for electrical safety (8).
3.2 Camera Installation
The B8-TURBO-G2P/A bullet cameras are designed for outdoor use with IP66 protection.

- Mounting: Securely mount the cameras in desired locations using appropriate hardware. Ensure the mounting surface is stable.
- Cable Connection: Connect one end of the 18-meter Siamese cable to the camera's video and power ports.
- DVR Connection: Route the Siamese cables to the DVR and connect the video (BNC) connectors to the DVR's video input ports.
- Power Connection: Connect the power connectors from the Siamese cables to the included 4-camera power supply. Plug the power supply into an electrical outlet.
3.3 Hard Drive Installation (Optional)
The DVR supports one HDD up to 6 TB (not included). For recording video, a hard drive must be installed.
- Power Off: Ensure the DVR is powered off and unplugged before opening the casing.
- Open Casing: Remove the screws on the DVR casing to access the interior.
- Mount HDD: Securely mount the hard drive inside the DVR using the provided screws.
- Connect Cables: Connect the SATA data and power cables from the DVR to the hard drive.
- Close Casing: Reattach the DVR casing and secure it with screws.
- Format HDD: After powering on the DVR, access the system settings to format the newly installed hard drive. Refer to the on-screen menu for specific steps.
3.4 Network Configuration and App Download
For remote viewing and control, connect the DVR to your network and download the Hik-Connect application.

- Connect to Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from the DVR's LAN port to your router or network switch.
- Network Settings: Access the DVR's network settings via the connected monitor. Configure IP address settings (DHCP is usually sufficient for most home networks).
- Download Hik-Connect: Download the Hik-Connect app from your smartphone's app store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play Store). You can find it by searching for "Hik-Connect" or visiting appstore.hikvision.com.
- Account Registration: Register for a Hik-Connect account and follow the in-app instructions to add your DVR by scanning its QR code or manually entering its serial number.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Live View and Recording
Once all connections are made and the DVR is powered on, you can view live footage and manage recordings.
- Live View: Connect a monitor to the DVR via HDMI or VGA. The system will display live feeds from all connected cameras. Use the mouse to navigate the on-screen menu.
- Recording: If a hard drive is installed and formatted, the DVR will automatically begin recording based on its default settings (e.g., continuous recording, motion detection). Recording schedules can be customized in the DVR's menu.
- Playback: Access the playback menu on the DVR or through the Hik-Connect app to review recorded footage.
4.2 Audio Features
The system supports audio transmission via Coaxitron and features integrated microphones in the cameras.

- Integrated Microphone: Each B8-TURBO-G2P/A camera includes an integrated microphone for capturing audio.
- Coaxitron Audio: Audio signals are transmitted over the same coaxial cable as the video, simplifying wiring.
- Bidirectional Audio: Through the Hik-Connect app, you can utilize the camera's microphone to listen to the environment and, if supported by the app and camera model, speak through the camera's speaker (if present, or through a connected speaker to the DVR).
4.3 Night Vision
The cameras are equipped with EXIR infrared technology for clear night vision.

- Automatic Activation: The cameras automatically switch to night vision mode in low-light conditions.
- EXIR Technology: Provides uniform infrared illumination up to 25 meters, reducing hotspots and overexposure for clearer night images.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Cameras: Periodically clean the camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- DVR: Keep the DVR free of dust by gently wiping its exterior. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked.
5.2 Firmware Updates
Check the Epcom official website or contact technical support for available firmware updates for your DVR and cameras. Firmware updates can improve performance, add features, and enhance security.
5.3 Hard Drive Management
- Regular Backup: If critical footage is stored, regularly back up data from the hard drive to external storage.
- Health Check: Some DVRs offer a hard drive health check feature in their system settings. Periodically check the status of your HDD.
