5 Units of Measurement

The scale supports five units of measurement: grams (g), pounds and ounces (lb:oz), ounces (oz), milliliters (ml), and fluid ounces (fl.oz). This versatility makes it suitable for various recipes and cooking styles.

Setup Guide

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the 3 AAA batteries (included), ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Initial Placement

Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface, such as a countertop or table. Avoid placing it on soft surfaces like carpets or near vibrating appliances, as this can affect accuracy.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • To turn on the scale, press the Power button (usually marked with a circle and a vertical line). The display will show "0.00" or "0" when ready.
  • To turn off the scale, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds. The scale also features an auto shut-off function to conserve battery power after a period of inactivity.

2. Unit Conversion

Press the Unit button to cycle through the available measurement units: g (grams), lb:oz (pounds and ounces), oz (ounces), ml (milliliters), and fl.oz (fluid ounces).

3. Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to zero out the weight of a container or to measure multiple ingredients in the same bowl.

  1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform. The display will show its weight.
  2. Press the Tare button. The display will reset to "0".
  3. Add your ingredient to the container. The display will show only the weight of the ingredient.
  4. Repeat the Tare function if adding more ingredients to the same container.

4. Using the Nutritional Calculator

The scale has 999 pre-programmed food codes to help you calculate nutritional facts.

  1. Turn on the scale and ensure it is at "0".
  2. Place the food item you wish to measure on the scale.
  3. Using the numeric keypad (0-9), enter the corresponding Food Code for your item. Refer to the included food code list (if applicable, or Fuzion website) for specific codes.
  4. The display will show the weight and the nutritional values (calories, fat, protein, etc.) for the entered food code.

5. Save and Recall Nutritional Data for a Meal

This function is useful for calculating the total nutritional content of a multi-ingredient meal.

  1. Measure your first ingredient using the nutritional calculator as described above.
  2. Press the Save button to store the nutritional data for this ingredient.
  3. Remove the first ingredient and add the next ingredient. Use the Tare function if needed.
  4. Enter the Food Code for the second ingredient and press Save.
  5. Repeat this process for all ingredients in your meal.
  6. After saving all ingredients, press the Recal button to view the accumulated total nutritional data for the entire meal.
  7. To clear the saved data, press the Clear button.

Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scale surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. The stainless steel platform is easy to clean.
  • Storage: Store the scale in a cool, dry place. Avoid placing heavy objects on the scale when not in use.
  • Battery Replacement: When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace all 3 AAA batteries with new ones.
