1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your GGM Gastro STS2000NOD Saladette PREMIUM. 2. Safety Instructions

  • Ensure the unit is connected to a properly grounded electrical outlet with the correct voltage (230V / 1N/PE / 50 Hz).
  • Do not operate the unit with a damaged power cord or plug.
  • Keep ventilation openings clear of obstructions to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
  • Only qualified personnel should perform maintenance or repairs.
  • The refrigerant R290 is flammable. Handle with care and ensure proper ventilation during servicing.
  • Clean the unit regularly as described in the maintenance section to prevent contamination.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to the carrier immediately.

3.2 Placement

Place the saladette on a firm, level surface. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for proper ventilation, especially at the rear where the compressor unit is located. Avoid direct sunlight or proximity to heat-generating appliances.

3.3 Leveling

The unit is equipped with adjustable stainless steel feet. Use a spirit level to ensure the unit is perfectly level. Adjust the feet by turning them clockwise or counter-clockwise.

3.4 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, clean all interior and exterior surfaces with a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

3.5 Power Connection

Connect the power cord to a dedicated, grounded 230V / 1N/PE / 50 Hz electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On

Once connected to power, the unit will typically power on automatically. The digital display will show the current internal temperature.

4.2 Temperature Control

The temperature is controlled via a digital display. Refer to the specific controller's instructions for setting the desired temperature within the range of -2 °C to 8 °C. Allow several hours for the unit to reach the set temperature before loading food.

4.3 Loading Food Items

The saladette is designed to accommodate 5 x GN 1/1 containers and 1 x GN 2/4 container in the glass top display area. The refrigerated base features three compartments with adjustable shelves suitable for GN 1/1 containers.

4.4 Automatic Defrost Function

The unit is equipped with an automatic defrost function. This process occurs periodically to prevent ice buildup on the evaporator coils. During defrost, the internal temperature may temporarily rise slightly.

4.5 LED Lighting

The glass display area features LED lighting to illuminate the food items. This can typically be controlled via a switch on the unit's control panel.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Daily Cleaning

Wipe down all interior and exterior stainless steel surfaces, glass, and granite worktop daily with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. Ensure all surfaces are dry after cleaning.

5.2 Condenser Cleaning

Periodically clean the condenser coils located at the rear or side of the unit. Dust and debris can accumulate on the coils, reducing efficiency. Use a brush or vacuum cleaner to gently remove any buildup. Disconnect power before cleaning the condenser.

5.3 Gasket Inspection

Regularly inspect door gaskets for tears or damage. Damaged gaskets can lead to air leaks and reduced cooling efficiency. Replace worn gaskets promptly.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Unit not cooling: Check power connection, ensure the unit is plugged in, and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Verify temperature settings. Ensure condenser coils are clean and not obstructed.
  • Excessive noise: Check if the unit is level. Ensure no objects are vibrating against the unit. If the noise persists, contact a qualified technician.
  • Water on floor: Check the drain pan and drain line for blockages. Ensure the unit is level.
  • Digital display not working: Check power supply. If the unit is still operating but the display is off, contact a technician.
