The JBL Bar 1000 is a 7.1.4-channel soundbar system designed to deliver an immersive audio experience. 3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your JBL Bar 1000 for optimal performance.

3.1 Placement

  • Place the main soundbar directly below your television. Ensure it has clear line of sight to your viewing area.
  • Position the wireless subwoofer in a location that provides the best bass response, typically near the soundbar or in a corner of the room.
  • For true surround sound, detach the wireless surround speakers and place them behind your primary listening position.

3.2 Connections

  • HDMI ARC/eARC: Connect the HDMI cable from the soundbar's HDMI ARC/eARC port to your TV's HDMI ARC/eARC port. This is the recommended connection for optimal audio quality and control.
  • Optical: If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC/eARC port, connect an optical cable from the soundbar's optical input to your TV's optical output.
  • Power: Connect the power cords to the soundbar and subwoofer, then plug them into a power outlet. The subwoofer should automatically pair with the soundbar.

3.3 Detachable Surround Speakers

The JBL Bar 1000 features innovative detachable surround speakers for a true wireless surround experience.

  • To detach, gently pull the speakers from the main soundbar. They connect magnetically.
  • Place the detached speakers behind your listening position for immersive surround sound.
  • To recharge, reattach them to the main soundbar. They will charge automatically.

3.4 Room Calibration

For optimal sound performance, calibrate the system using the JBL One app.

  1. Download the JBL One app from your device's app store.
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your soundbar to your home Wi-Fi network.
  3. Initiate the room calibration process within the app. This will guide you through positioning the detachable speakers for sound testing to optimize audio for your room's acoustics.
