1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the operation and maintenance of your Leting Portable AM/FM Radio and MP3 Speaker, Model 088. This versatile device combines an FM radio, MP3 player, and a built-in flashlight, offering multiple audio playback options and portability.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The device uses a replaceable Lithium Polymer battery.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Gently slide or lift the cover to open it.
  3. Insert the provided battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover until it clicks securely into place.

5.2 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the device.

  1. Connect the small end of the charging cable to the DCSV Charge Port on the device.
  2. Connect the other end of the charging cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. The LED Charging Indicator will illuminate during charging. It will typically change color or turn off when charging is complete.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Slide the Power Switch to the "ON" position to turn on the device. Slide it to "OFF" to power down.

6.2 Mode Selection

Press the Mode Switch (M) button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: FM Radio, TF Card (MP3), USB (MP3), and AUX Input.

6.3 FM Radio Operation

  1. Switch to FM mode using the Mode Switch (M). The LED display will show the FM frequency.
  2. Auto Scan and Save Stations: Long press the Play/Pause/Scan Button (►▌▌) for approximately 3 seconds. The radio will automatically scan for available FM stations and save them to memory.
  3. Navigate Saved Stations: Use the Previous (◀◀) and Next (▶▶) buttons to cycle through saved stations.
  4. Direct Frequency Input: Use the Number Keys (0-9) to directly enter a desired FM frequency (e.g., 8-8-4 for 88.4 MHz).

6.4 MP3 Player Operation (TF Card / USB)

The device supports MP3 files only from TF cards (up to 32GB) and USB flash drives.

  1. Insert Media: Insert a TF card into the TF Card Slot or a USB flash drive into the USB Port.
  2. Select Mode: Press the Mode Switch (M) to select either "TF" or "USB" mode. The device will automatically begin playing MP3 files.
  3. Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause/Scan Button (►▌▌) to play or pause the current track.
  4. Skip Tracks: Use the Previous (◀◀) and Next (▶▶) buttons to skip to the previous or next track.
  5. Direct Track Selection: Use the Number Keys (0-9) to directly enter the track number you wish to play.
  6. Repeat Mode: Press the MP3 Repeat (REP) Button to cycle through repeat options (e.g., repeat one, repeat all).

6.5 AUX Input Mode

Connect external audio devices (e.g., smartphone, computer) to the radio.

  1. Connect one end of the provided AUX cable to the Audio Input (AUX) port on the radio.
  2. Connect the other end of the AUX cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device.
  3. Press the Mode Switch (M) to select "AUX" mode.
  4. Control playback and volume from your external device. The radio's volume knob will also adjust the output.

6.6 Flashlight Function

To activate the built-in LED flashlight, press the LED Flashlight button located on the side of the device. Press it again to turn it off.

6.7 Headphone Use

For private listening, connect standard 3.5mm headphones to the Earphone Output jack.

Device does not power on.
  • Ensure the battery is correctly installed.
  • Charge the battery fully.
  • Check if the power switch is in the "ON" position.
Poor FM radio reception.
  • Extend the antenna fully.
  • Move to a location with better signal reception.
  • Perform an auto-scan to find stronger stations.
MP3s not playing from TF card/USB.
  • Ensure the TF card/USB drive is inserted correctly.
  • Verify that the files are in MP3 format.
  • Check if the device is in the correct "TF" or "USB" mode.
  • Ensure the TF card/USB drive is not corrupted or empty.
No sound from speaker/headphones.
  • Increase the volume using the volume knob.
  • Ensure headphones are fully plugged in (if applicable).
  • Check if the device is paused.
