Compatibility
The SnapPower GuideLight for Duplex Outlets is specifically designed for standard duplex electrical outlets with visible screws on the sides of the receptacle. Before installation, please verify your outlet type.
- Required: Duplex outlets with side screws. Most outlets in the US and Canada are compatible.
- Not Compatible: GFCI/GFI outlets or Decorator style outlets.

Setup and Installation
Installation of the SnapPower GuideLight is quick and requires no special wiring or batteries. Always ensure power is off before beginning.
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker for the outlet you intend to use and turn off the power. Verify the power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove Existing Cover Plate: Unscrew and remove the existing wall plate from your duplex outlet.
- Install GuideLight: Align the GuideLight cover plate over the duplex outlet. Ensure the patented prongs on the back of the GuideLight make contact with the side screws of the electrical receptacle. The LED light strip should be at the bottom.
- Secure Plate: Use the provided screw to secure the GuideLight cover plate to the outlet. Do not overtighten.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

Operation
The SnapPower GuideLight operates automatically using its integrated light sensor.
- Automatic On/Off: The built-in light sensor detects ambient light levels. When the area becomes dark, the LED lights will automatically activate. When sufficient light is present, the LEDs will turn off.
- Brightness Adjustment: Some models may include a small toggle switch on the bottom edge of the plate to adjust the brightness (low/high) or to turn the light off manually. Refer to your specific model for this feature.

Maintenance

- Cleaning: Wipe the surface of the cover plate with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or liquids directly on the light sensor or LED strip.
