Setup

  1. Prepare the Freezer Bowl: Before making any frozen dessert, the double-walled freezer bowl must be completely frozen. Place the empty, dry freezer bowl in a freezer set to 0°F (-18°C) or colder for 12 to 24 hours. The bowl is ready when the coolant liquid inside is fully frozen. Shaking the bowl should produce no liquid sound.
  2. Assemble the Unit:
    • Place the frozen freezer bowl onto the motor base.
    • Insert the mixing paddle into the center of the freezer bowl, ensuring it sits correctly.
    • Place the transparent lid onto the freezer bowl, aligning the tabs on the lid with the slots on the motor base. Twist gently to secure.
  3. Prepare Your Mixture: Prepare your desired ice cream, sorbet, or yogurt mixture according to your recipe. Ensure the mixture is chilled in the refrigerator before adding it to the machine.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to create your frozen treats:

  1. Start Churning: With the unit assembled and the freezer bowl frozen, plug in the appliance. The LED display will illuminate. Press the Power button to turn on the machine.
  2. Add Mixture: While the mixing paddle is rotating, slowly pour your chilled mixture through the ingredient funnel in the transparent lid. Do not overfill; the mixture will expand during churning. The maximum capacity is 2 quarts.
  3. Set Time: Use the touch controls to set the desired churning duration. Most recipes require 20-40 minutes. The LED display will show the remaining time.
  4. Add Ingredients Mid-Churn: If your recipe calls for adding solid ingredients like chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit, do so during the last 5 minutes of churning through the ingredient funnel.
  5. Monitor Progress: The machine will churn the mixture until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. You can observe the process through the transparent lid.
  6. Completion: Once the set time expires, the machine will stop. Unplug the appliance.
  7. Serve or Store: Remove the lid and mixing paddle. Use a plastic or wooden utensil to scoop the frozen dessert from the freezer bowl. For a firmer consistency, transfer the dessert to an airtight container and place it in the freezer for 2-4 hours.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your ice cream maker.

  1. Disassembly: Unplug the appliance. Remove the lid, mixing paddle, and freezer bowl from the motor base.
  2. Cleaning the Freezer Bowl: Wash the freezer bowl by hand with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before placing it back in the freezer for future use. Do not wash in a dishwasher.
  3. Cleaning the Lid and Paddle: The transparent lid and mixing paddle are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended) or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water.
  4. Cleaning the Motor Base: Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.
  5. Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the freezer bowl in the freezer so it's ready for your next use.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outage; faulty outlet. Ensure the appliance is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check your circuit breaker.
Mixture does not freeze or is too soft. Freezer bowl not sufficiently frozen; mixture not pre-chilled; recipe ingredients incorrect. Ensure freezer bowl is frozen for 12-24 hours at 0°F (-18°C). Pre-chill your mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Verify recipe proportions.
Mixing paddle stops during operation. Mixture is too thick; too many solid ingredients added; motor overheating. Ensure mixture consistency is appropriate. Add solid ingredients only during the last 5 minutes. Unplug and let the motor cool down before restarting.
Loud noise during operation. Mixing paddle not seated correctly; freezer bowl not properly aligned. Check that the mixing paddle is correctly inserted and the freezer bowl is securely placed on the motor base.
