2. Safety Instructions
Please read all safety instructions carefully before using the appliance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Always ensure the appliance is connected to a grounded power outlet with the correct voltage (220 Volts).
- Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. The warming plate and carafe will be hot during and after operation.
- Unplug the coffee maker from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

4. Setup
Before first use, follow these steps to prepare your coffee maker.
- Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and dispose of them responsibly.
- Clean Components: Wash the thermal carafe, reusable mesh filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Initial Water Cycle (Cleaning Brew):
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the MAX (10 cups) level.
- Place the empty reusable mesh filter into the filter basket, and ensure the filter basket is correctly seated.
- Close the lid and place the empty thermal carafe on the warming plate.
- Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet.
- Press the On/Off button to start a brewing cycle without coffee. This will clean the internal components.
- Once the cycle is complete, discard the hot water from the carafe.
- Repeat this process 2-3 times to ensure thorough cleaning and remove any manufacturing residues.
- Your coffee maker is now ready for use.
5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew delicious coffee with your Cecotec Coffee 66 Drop & Thermo.
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to your desired level, indicated by the cup markings on the side. Do not exceed the MAX (10 cups) level.
- Add Ground Coffee: Place the reusable mesh filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. A general guideline is one level measuring spoon (approx. 7g) per cup. Adjust to taste.
- Position Carafe: Ensure the thermal carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate. The anti-drip valve will be pushed up by the carafe lid, allowing coffee to flow.

- Start Brewing: Plug the coffee maker into the power outlet. Press the On/Off button. The indicator light will illuminate, signifying that the brewing process has started.

- ExtremeAroma Technology: The coffee maker utilizes ExtremeAroma technology, which ensures a continuous spray and drip process to extract a more intense coffee flavor.
- Anti-drip Function: You can temporarily remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup of coffee. The anti-drip function will stop the flow of coffee for a short period. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
- Keep Warm Function: After brewing, the warming plate will automatically keep the coffee warm for up to 45 minutes. The indicator light will remain on during this period.

- Serving: Once the brewing cycle is complete and the warming period ends, or when you are ready to serve, carefully remove the carafe and pour.

- Turn Off: To turn off the coffee maker manually, press the On/Off button again. Unplug the appliance from the power outlet when not in use.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee maker. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Daily Cleaning:
- Remove the reusable mesh filter and filter basket. Discard used coffee grounds.
- Wash the reusable mesh filter, filter basket, and thermal carafe in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Descaling (Monthly or as needed): Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance.
- Prepare a descaling solution by mixing white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio) or using a commercial descaling agent according to its instructions.
- Pour the solution into the water reservoir.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Run a brewing cycle. After half the solution has brewed through, turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
- Turn the coffee maker back on to complete the brewing cycle.
- Discard the solution and run 2-3 cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse thoroughly and remove any vinegar taste.
7. Troubleshooting
