5. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the induction cooktop from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport if needed.
- Placement: Place the cooktop on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit, keeping at least 4 inches (10 cm) clearance from walls or other appliances to allow for proper airflow through the cooling vents.
- Power Connection: Ensure your power outlet is 110V and properly grounded. Plug the cooktop's power cord into the grounded electrical outlet.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the ceramic glass surface and stainless steel body with a damp cloth to remove any dust or residue from manufacturing. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Cookware Check: Verify that your cookware is induction-compatible. Induction cooktops require pots and pans made of ferromagnetic materials (e.g., cast iron, magnetic stainless steel). A simple test is to see if a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pot.

| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cooktop does not turn on. | No power supply; power cord not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped. | Ensure the cooktop is properly plugged into a working 110V outlet. Check your household circuit breaker. |
| Cooktop turns on but does not heat. | Incompatible cookware; no cookware on the surface; cookware not centered. | Use induction-compatible cookware. Place cookware centrally on the heating zone. Ensure the pot is flat-bottomed and has sufficient diameter. |
| Display shows an error code. | Specific error (e.g., overheating, voltage issue, internal fault). | Refer to the specific error code in the full manual (if available) or unplug the unit, wait 5 minutes, and plug it back in. If the error persists, contact customer support. |
| Unusual noise during operation. | Normal fan operation; resonance from cookware. | A low humming sound from the cooling fan is normal. Some cookware may produce a slight buzzing sound due to induction. This is generally not a fault. |
| Cooktop automatically shuts off. | Overheating protection activated; timer elapsed; no cookware detected for too long. | Allow the unit to cool down. Check if the timer has finished. Ensure cookware is on the surface. |
