4. Setup and Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to assemble the chair on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage.

  1. Attach Casters to Base: Insert each of the five casters into the holes at the end of each leg of the 5-star base. Push firmly until they click into place.
  2. Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the assembled base.
  3. Attach Mechanism Plate to Seat: Align the mechanism plate with the screw holes on the underside of the seat cushion. Ensure the front of the mechanism (usually indicated by an arrow or "FRONT" label) faces the front of the seat. Secure with screws and washers using the provided Allen wrench.
  4. Attach Armrests to Seat: Attach the armrests to the sides of the seat cushion using the designated screws. Do not fully tighten yet.
  5. Attach Backrest to Seat and Armrests: Align the backrest with the seat and the armrests. Secure the backrest to the seat and the armrests using the remaining screws. Once all screws are in place, tighten all screws for the armrests and backrest securely.
  6. Connect Seat Assembly to Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat (with mechanism, armrests, and backrest attached) onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring the center hole of the mechanism plate aligns with the top of the gas lift.

5. Operating Instructions

Your BOSMILLER office chair features several adjustable functions to enhance comfort and ergonomics.

5.1. Seat Height Adjustment

To adjust the seat height:

  • To raise: While seated, lift the lever located under the right side of the seat. Stand up slightly to allow the chair to rise. Release the lever at the desired height.
  • To lower: While seated, lift the lever located under the right side of the seat. Apply pressure to the seat to lower it. Release the lever at the desired height.

The adjustable height range is approximately 20.5 inches to 23.4 inches.

5.2. Rocking Function and Tilt Tension

The chair features a rocking mechanism for relaxation.

  • To activate rocking: Pull the same lever (used for height adjustment) outwards from the chair. The chair will now allow you to rock back and forth between approximately 90-110 degrees.
  • To lock upright: Push the lever inwards towards the chair.
  • Adjusting Tilt Tension: The round knob located under the front-center of the seat controls the intensity of the rocking motion. Turn clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to rock) or counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to rock).

5.3. Flip-Up Armrests

The armrests are designed to flip up, allowing the chair to be pushed closer to a desk or for easier entry/exit.

  • Simply lift the armrests upwards until they lock into an upright position.
  • To return them to the down position, gently pull them down.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will prolong the life and appearance of your chair.

  • Cleaning: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. For the PU leather, use a mild soap solution if necessary, then wipe dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Hardware Check: Periodically (every 3-6 months) check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten as needed to prevent wobbling or instability.
  • Caster Care: Keep casters free of hair and debris to ensure smooth rolling.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Chair wobbles or feels unstable. Loose screws or bolts. Check and tighten all assembly screws and bolts.
