4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button located on the microphone to turn the device on or off. The display will illuminate upon power-on.
4.2 32-Bit Float Recording
The M3 MicTrak's 32-bit float recording capability allows for clip-free audio capture without the need for manual gain setting. This technology ensures that even very loud sounds are recorded without distortion, providing maximum dynamic range for post-production.

4.3 Gain Control
While 32-bit float recording minimizes the need for precise gain setting, a manual gain control knob (0-10) is available on the microphone for fine-tuning the input level if desired. The current gain level is displayed on the screen.
4.4 Monitoring Audio
Connect headphones to the 3.5mm headphone output jack on the microphone or receiver to monitor your audio in real-time. This allows you to ensure proper sound capture during recording.

4.5 Stereo Modes and Mono Mode
The M3 MicTrak offers flexible recording patterns:
- 90° Stereo: Captures a focused stereo image.
- 120° Stereo: Provides a wider stereo field.
- MONO: Records a single channel audio.
These modes can be selected directly on the device or via the Comica Audio app.
4.6 Low Cut Filter and Frequency Boost
Utilize the low cut filter to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise (e.g., wind rumble, handling noise). The frequency boost can enhance clarity in certain situations. These functions are accessible via dedicated buttons on the microphone or through the app.
4.7 Wireless Functionality and App Control
The M3 MicTrak features wireless connectivity, allowing control via the Comica Audio app. The app provides comprehensive control over settings such as gain, mode, denoise function, low cut, frequency boost, mute, and bit depth (32-bit float or 24-bit). The wireless range is up to 200 meters line of sight.

5. Maintenance
Keep the microphone clean by gently wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight. Use the foam windscreen to protect against wind noise and dust. For outdoor use in windy conditions, consider a furry windscreen for better performance.
6. Troubleshooting
- Audio Clipping/Distortion: The 32-bit float recording is designed to prevent clipping. If you experience issues, ensure you are recording in 32-bit float mode. For post-production adjustments, use the "M3 Edit and Play" app to reduce dynamic range and normalize audio.
- Weak Battery Life: Ensure fresh AA batteries are used. For extended recording sessions, connect the device to a power bank via USB-C.
- Mount Instability: If the shockmount feels loose, ensure all screws are tightened. Consider third-party mounting solutions if the provided mount does not meet your stability requirements.
- Wind Noise: Use the included foam windscreen. For significant wind, a furry windscreen (dead cat) is recommended.
