1. Product Overview

The SpeedClean CJ-125 Portable CoilJet is designed for efficient cleaning of HVAC condenser and evaporator coils. This system allows for cleaning coils in various locations, including remote sites without direct water access or power outlets.

2. Safety Information

Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the CoilJet system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection and gloves, when operating the unit and handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Ensure the unit is stable on a flat surface during operation to prevent tipping.
  • Do not point the spray nozzle at people, animals, or electrical components.
  • Use only approved coil cleaning chemicals. Follow chemical manufacturer's instructions for dilution and safe handling.
  • Keep children and bystanders away from the operating area.
  • Disconnect the unit from power before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Warning: Product may contain materials cautioned by California Proposition 65.

3. Setup

  1. Charge Battery: Ensure the unit's battery is fully charged before use. Connect the charger to a power outlet and to the charging port on the CoilJet unit.
  2. Fill Water Tank: Unscrew the cap of the larger tank (water tank) and fill it with clean water. Securely replace the cap.
  3. Fill Chemical Tank: Unscrew the cap of the smaller tank (chemical tank) and fill it with the appropriate, diluted coil cleaning solution. Securely replace the cap.
  4. Connect Spray Gun: Attach the spray gun and desired wand extension to the high-pressure hose. Connect the hose to the outlet port on the CoilJet unit.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Priming the Pump

Before first use or after refilling tanks, prime the pump by selecting the 'Water' setting and squeezing the spray gun trigger until a steady stream of water is discharged.

4.2. Cleaning Condenser Coils (Outdoor Units)

  1. Ensure the HVAC unit is powered off.
  2. Select the 'Chemical' setting on the CoilJet unit.
  3. Spray the coil cleaning solution evenly over the condenser coils. Allow the chemical to dwell for the time recommended by the chemical manufacturer.
  4. Switch the setting to 'Water'.
  5. Rinse the coils thoroughly with water, working from top to bottom, until all chemical residue and loosened debris are removed.

4.3. Cleaning Evaporator Coils (Indoor Units)

  1. Ensure the HVAC unit is powered off.
  2. For indoor units, it is recommended to use a coil bib or similar containment system to collect wastewater and prevent damage to surrounding areas.
  3. Select the 'Chemical' setting on the CoilJet unit.
  4. Spray the coil cleaning solution evenly over the evaporator coils. Allow the chemical to dwell for the time recommended by the chemical manufacturer.
  5. Switch the setting to 'Water'.
  6. Rinse the coils thoroughly with water, ensuring all chemical residue and loosened debris are flushed into the containment system.

4.4. Cleaning Rooftop Units

The portable design of the CoilJet allows for easy transport to rooftop units. Follow the same cleaning procedures as for outdoor condenser coils, ensuring stable footing and adherence to all safety protocols for working at heights.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Unit: After each use, rinse the water and chemical tanks thoroughly with clean water. Run clean water through the pump and hose to flush out any remaining chemical residue.
  • Battery Care: Keep the battery charged, especially during periods of non-use, to prolong its lifespan. Store the unit in a cool, dry place.
  • Nozzle Maintenance: Periodically check the spray nozzle for blockages and clean as necessary to maintain optimal spray pattern and pressure.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Low or no spray pressure Low battery charge, clogged nozzle, air in pump, empty tank. Charge battery, clean nozzle, prime pump, refill tank.
Unit not turning on Battery not charged, power switch off. Charge battery, ensure power switch is in the 'ON' position.
Leaking from connections Loose connections, damaged O-rings. Tighten all connections, inspect and replace O-rings if damaged.
