SDKEHUI CW-5200 Industrial Water Chiller Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your SDKEHUI CW-5200 Industrial Water Chiller. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the unit and retain it for future reference.

The CW-5200 series industrial water chiller is designed for cooling CO2 glass laser tubes ranging from 50W to 130W in laser engraving and cutting machines. It features a 9-liter cooling tank capacity, dual cooling fans for efficient heat dissipation, and a precise thermostat for accurate temperature control. Multiple alarm functions ensure protection against water flow issues, high/low temperatures, and compressor overcurrent.

3. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the chiller from its packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit.
  2. Water Filling: Open the water supply port on top of the chiller. Use a funnel to fill the water tank with distilled or purified water. Ensure the water level reaches the 'NORMAL' range on the water level gauge. Do not overfill.
  3. Filling water into the chiller's reservoir

Figure 3: Illustration of filling the water tank. The water level gauge indicates 'FULL', 'NORMAL', and 'ALARM' ranges.

  4. Hose Connections: Connect the water inlet and outlet hoses from the chiller to the corresponding ports on your CO2 laser engraving machine. Ensure connections are secure to prevent leaks.
  5. Video 1: Demonstrates the unboxing, water filling, and hose connection process for the CW-5200 Industrial Water Chiller with a laser engraving machine.

  6. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the chiller's power socket and then to a suitable power outlet (110V).
  7. Initial Power On: Flip the power switch to the 'ON' position. The chiller will initiate its cooling cycle. The temperature display will show the current water temperature.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Temperature Control

The chiller is equipped with a precise temperature controller. The appropriate water temperature for a CO2 laser tube is typically around 23 degrees Celsius, but always refer to your laser machine's specific requirements.

  1. Setting Temperature: To adjust the water temperature, press the "SET" button on the temperature controller. Use the "▲" and "▼" keys to set the desired temperature. Press "SET" again to confirm.
  2. Video 2: Guide on how to set the water temperature on the chiller's digital controller.

  3. Constant Temperature Mode: To ensure stable operation, it is recommended to set the chiller to constant temperature mode. Refer to the video for detailed steps on how to access and change this setting.

4.2 Water Flow Monitoring

The water level gauge on the back of the chiller allows for easy visual monitoring of the water level. Ensure the water level remains within the 'NORMAL' (green) range. If it falls into the 'ALARM' (red) range, refill the tank immediately.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your chiller.

  • Water Replacement: Replace the water in the reservoir every month to avoid reduced cooling efficiency of the pump and prevent algae growth or mineral buildup. Use only distilled or purified water.
  • Filter Cleaning: Periodically check and clean the air inlet filter to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
  • Drainage: The chiller features a water drain port at the bottom for easy draining during water changes or when moving the unit.

6. Troubleshooting

The CW-5200 chiller is equipped with multiple alarm functions to indicate potential issues:

  • Water Flow Alarm: If the water flow is insufficient or interrupted, the red 'ALARM' indicator light will illuminate, and an audible alarm may sound. Check water levels, hoses for kinks, and ensure the pump is operating correctly.
  • High/Low Temperature Alarm: If the water temperature deviates significantly from the set temperature, an alarm will activate. Check the ambient temperature, ensure proper ventilation, and verify the chiller's cooling/heating functions.
  • Compressor Delay Protection: This feature protects the compressor from frequent starts and stops. Allow the unit to rest if this protection is activated.
  • Compressor Overcurrent Protection: This protects the compressor from excessive electrical current. If this occurs, power off the unit and consult a qualified technician.
