5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Component Assembly

  1. Mounting the Tower Light: Secure the tower light assembly using the provided 2-hole L-bracket. Choose a stable, vertical surface for mounting. Ensure the mounting location allows for clear visibility of the light stacks.
  2. Connecting the Control Box: The tower light is pre-wired to the control box. Ensure the connection is secure.
  3. Connecting the Extension Cord: Plug the extension cord into the control box.
  4. Connecting the Power Adapter: Connect the 6 ft industrial power adapter to the extension cord.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the power adapter into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

5.2 DIP Switch Configuration

The tower light features internal DIP switches for customizing the buzzer and light behaviors. To access these switches, carefully unscrew the top light module (typically Red) and gently pull it away to reveal the circuit board. The DIP switch settings are as follows:

Image 5.1: Internal DIP Switch Instruction for customizing light and buzzer functions.

  • Switches 1-3 (Buzzer Settings):
    • Switch 1: ON = With buzzer, OFF = No buzzer
    • Switch 2: INC = Normal sound, BU = Continuous sound
    • Switch 3: (Not explicitly defined in diagram, typically for sound type or intensity)
  • Switches 4-8 (Light Mode Settings): These switches control whether the lights are steady or flash when activated by the control box.
    • Switch 4: W = White steady, White flash
    • Switch 5: C = Blue steady, Blue flash
    • Switch 6: G = Green steady, Green flash
    • Switch 7: Y = Yellow steady, Yellow flash
    • Switch 8: R = Red steady, Red flash

Default DIP switch Settings: Buzzer/Red Flash, Yellow ON, Green ON. Adjust these switches according to your desired operational mode. Ensure power is disconnected before making any changes to the DIP switches.

6. Operation

Once the tower light is installed and configured, operate it using the selector switches on the control box.

  • Each selector switch corresponds to a specific light color (Red, Yellow, Green).
  • Turn a switch to the 'ON' position to activate the corresponding light.
  • Turn a switch to the 'OFF' position to deactivate the corresponding light.
  • The behavior of the light (steady or flashing) and the buzzer activation are determined by the internal DIP switch settings (refer to Section 5.2).

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the tower light and control box. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the cables, connections, and mounting bracket for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified IP53 rating to prevent damage from dust or water splashes.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power/Lights Not Turning On:
    • Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into a working 120V AC outlet.
    • Verify all cable connections between the power adapter, extension cord, control box, and tower light are secure.
    • Ensure the selector switches on the control box are in the 'ON' position for the desired lights.
  • Buzzer Not Functioning or Always On:
    • Check DIP switch 1 (Buzzer ON/OFF) as described in Section 5.2.
    • Verify DIP switch 2 (Buzzer sound type) is set as desired.
    • Ensure the red light is activated, as the buzzer is typically linked to the red light by default.
  • Light Flashing Instead of Steady (or vice-versa):
    • Review the DIP switch settings for the specific light color (Switches 6-8) as detailed in Section 5.2 to ensure they match your desired behavior.
  • Intermittent Operation:
    • Inspect all connections for looseness or damage.
    • Ensure the power source is stable.
