1. Introduction

The TIDRADIO TD-H8 is a powerful 10-watt handheld ham radio designed for reliable communication. 2. Package Contents

• 1. A/B Switch: Toggles between the A and B channels.
• 2. BL (Bluetooth): Activates wireless programming mode.
• 3. VFO/MR: Switches between Frequency Mode (VFO) and Channel Mode (MR).
• 4. MONI/Flashlight: Hold to monitor the current channel; press to activate the flashlight.
• 5. PTT (Push-to-Talk): Press and hold to transmit.
• 6. ALARM: Hold to activate the alarm function.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation and Charging

1. Align the 2500mAh Li-ion battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
2. Slide the battery upwards until it clicks securely into place.
3. To charge, place the radio into the provided charge base. Ensure the metal contacts on the radio align with those on the base.
4. Connect the charge base to a power source using the USB-C cable and adapter. The indicator light on the base will show charging status.

4.2 Antenna Attachment

1. Screw the long stock antenna clockwise onto the antenna connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

4.3 Initial Power-On

1. Rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the radio.
2. Adjust the knob to your desired volume level.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

• Channel/Frequency Selection: Use the up/down arrow keys on the keypad to navigate through channels or frequencies.
• Transmit: Press and hold the PTT button to transmit. Release to receive.
• Menu Navigation: Press the MENU button to access the radio's settings. Use the up/down arrows to scroll and MENU again to confirm. Press EXIT to return to the main screen.

5.2 Wireless Programming (Odmaster App)

The TD-H8 supports wireless programming via the Odmaster app on your smartphone, eliminating the need for a programming cable.

1. Download the Odmaster app from your device's app store (Google Play or Apple App Store).
2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
3. On the TD-H8 radio, press the BL button to activate Bluetooth pairing mode.
4. Open the Odmaster app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your TD-H8 radio.
5. Once connected, you can manage channels, frequencies, repeater lists, and other radio configurations directly from your phone.
