4. Setup
4.1 Power Connection
Your boombox can be powered by AC mains electricity or batteries.
AC Power Operation
- Ensure the unit is switched off.
- Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC IN jack on the rear of the unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.
Note: Disconnect the AC power cord when operating on batteries.
Battery Operation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the unit.
- Insert the required number of C-size batteries (not supplied), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
4.2 Antenna Adjustment
For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in ferrite bar antenna, so no external adjustment is needed; simply rotate the unit for best reception.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 General Controls
- Power On/Off: Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off.
- Volume Adjustment: Use the VOLUME +/- buttons to increase or decrease the sound level.
- Function Selection: Press the FUNCTION/MODE button repeatedly to cycle through CD, RADIO (AM/FM), and AUX modes.
5.2 CD Player Operation
- Press the FUNCTION/MODE button to select CD mode.
- Open the CD compartment lid.
- Place a CD (audio CD or MP3 CD) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
- Close the CD compartment lid securely.
- The CD will begin playing automatically or display "NO DISC" if no disc is detected.
- Use the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause or resume playback.
- Press the STOP button to stop playback.
- Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to skip tracks or fast forward/rewind within a track.
Note: This unit supports standard audio CDs and MP3 CDs. Compatibility with all MP3 CD formats is not guaranteed.
5.3 AM/FM Radio Operation
- Press the FUNCTION/MODE button to select RADIO mode.
- Extend the telescopic antenna for FM reception. For AM, rotate the unit for best signal.
- Press the BAND button to switch between AM and FM bands.
- Use the TUNING +/- buttons to manually tune to your desired station.
- To auto-scan for stations, press and hold the TUNING +/- buttons for a few seconds.
5.4 Cassette Player Operation
- Press the FUNCTION/MODE button to select TAPE mode (if available, or ensure no other mode is active).
- Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment.
- Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing upwards.
- Close the cassette compartment.
- Press the PLAY button to begin playback.
- Use the FAST FORWARD (▶▶) or REWIND (◀◀) buttons to navigate the tape.
- Press the STOP/EJECT button to stop playback and open the compartment.
5.5 Auxiliary Input Operation
- Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the AUX IN jack using a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied).
- Press the FUNCTION/MODE button to select AUX mode.
- Start playback on your external device. The audio will be played through the boombox speakers.
- Adjust the volume using the boombox's VOLUME +/- buttons and/or the volume control on your external device.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Unit
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner disc.
- For the cassette head, use a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
6.2 Battery Care
- Always replace all batteries at the same time.
- Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
- Remove batteries if the unit is not used for a long period to prevent leakage.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
