5. Operating Instructions

The HDMI Matrix Switch can be controlled via the front panel buttons or the included IR remote control.

5.1. Basic Switching

To route an input source to an output display:

  1. Press the desired Input button (1-4) on the front panel or remote control.
  2. Press the desired Output button (1-4) on the front panel or remote control.
  3. The status display will show the current routing (e.g., "1-2" for Input 1 to Output 2).

You can route multiple inputs to multiple outputs simultaneously (Matrix Mode) or one input to multiple outputs (Splitter Mode).

Diagram showing two operational modes: Splitter Mode where one HDMI source (Xbox, PS3/4, Blu-ray Player, STB) is connected to the matrix switch and its signal is sent to multiple displays; and Matrix Mode where multiple HDMI sources are connected to a different matrix switch and their signals are routed to different displays.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your HDMI Matrix Switch:

  • Keep the device in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid exposing the device to direct sunlight, high temperatures, or humidity.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected to prevent signal loss or intermittent issues.
  • Do not attempt to open or service the device yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for repairs.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your HDMI Matrix Switch, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause / Solution
No video output on display.
  • Ensure the matrix switch is powered on.
  • Verify all HDMI cables are securely connected to both source and display devices, and the matrix switch.
  • Check if the correct input source is selected for the corresponding output display.
  • Try connecting the HDMI source directly to the display to confirm the source and display are working correctly.
  • Test with different HDMI cables.
  • Restart all connected devices (source, matrix, display).
Video quality issues (flickering, distorted image).
  • Ensure HDMI cables are of good quality and suitable for the resolution being transmitted (e.g., 4K compatible cables).
  • Check cable length; excessively long HDMI cables can degrade signal quality.
  • Verify that the display device supports the output resolution from the matrix switch. If experiencing issues with higher resolutions (e.g., 1920x1200), try lowering the source resolution to 1920x1080 or below.
  • Ensure HDCP compatibility between all devices.
Remote control not working.
  • Check if the remote control batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the IR receiver on the matrix switch.
  • Point the remote directly at the IR receiver.
RS232 port not functioning.

The RS232 port on this model is a reserved function and is not active. It does not provide RS232 control capabilities.
