Setup and Assembly

The RIVECO 22U Network Rack is designed for simple assembly. All necessary hardware, including assembly screws, nuts, leveling feet, casters, and a PDU, are included. An electric driver is recommended to expedite the assembly process.

Included Components:

  • Rack Frame Components (Side Frames, Top/Bottom Front Beams, Rear Beams, Top Cover, Bottom Panel)
  • 2 x Rack Shelves
  • 1 x Rail Mount PDU (8 outlets)
  • Casters (2 with brake, 2 without brake)
  • Leveling Feet (4)
  • Assembly Screws & Nuts (M5 & M6)
  • 10-32 Screws for sound equipment mounting
  • Wrench

Assembly Steps:

  1. Install Vertical Posts: Attach the four vertical posts to the bottom panel using the provided M6 screws. Ensure the posts are correctly oriented with the numbered units facing outwards.
  2. Install Top Frame: Secure the top frame to the vertical posts using M6 screws.
  3. Attach Top Cover: Place the top cover onto the assembled frame and fasten it with M4.4 screws.
  4. Install Rack Mount Shelves: Position the two rack shelves at desired heights within the rack and secure them using the appropriate screws and cage nuts.
  5. Install Shelf Back Supports: Attach the shelf back supports to the rear vertical posts to provide additional stability for the shelves.
  6. Install Casters or Leveling Feet:
    • For mobility, install the four casters (two with brakes) onto the bottom panel.
    • For stationary and heavier loads (up to 500 lbs / 220 kg), install the four leveling feet instead of casters to secure the rack to the floor. For lighter loads (up to 400 lbs / 180 kg), casters can be used.
  7. Install Rail Mount PDU: Mount the 8-outlet PDU to a suitable position on the rack for power distribution.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your RIVECO Network Rack.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the rack with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the powder coat finish.
  • Fastener Check: Regularly inspect all screws and nuts to ensure they remain tight. Tighten any loose fasteners to maintain structural stability.
  • Caster/Leveling Feet Inspection: If using casters, check for smooth operation and ensure brakes are functional when engaged. If using leveling feet, verify they are securely seated and providing stable support.

Troubleshooting

  • Instability: If the rack feels unstable, ensure all assembly screws are tightened. If using casters, verify they are locked. For heavy equipment, always use the leveling feet to secure the rack to the floor and distribute weight evenly.
  • Equipment Mounting Issues: Double-check that you are using the correct screw types (10-32 for round holes, M5/M6 for square holes) and cage nuts for your equipment.
  • Overheating Devices: Ensure adequate space between devices for airflow. Verify that the rack's vented panels are not obstructed.
  • Damaged Parts: Upon receiving the product, inspect all components for any damage. Contact customer support immediately if any parts are bent or damaged, as this may affect assembly and stability.
