1. Introduction

The Azio Cascade 75% Mechanical Keyboard is a compact, customizable input device designed for various computing environments. It features a 75% layout, retaining essential function keys while minimizing desk space. This keyboard supports both wired USB-C and wireless Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, compatible with up to three devices simultaneously. 3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, connect the keyboard to a USB power source using the provided USB Type-C cable. The keyboard is equipped with a Lithium Ion battery. A full charge ensures optimal wireless performance.

3.2 Connectivity Modes

The Azio Cascade keyboard supports both wired and wireless connections. A switch located on the side of the keyboard allows selection between USB (wired), OFF, and BT (Bluetooth wireless) modes.

  • Wired Connection: Connect the USB Type-C cable from the keyboard to an available USB port on your computer. Set the mode switch to 'USB'.
  • Bluetooth Wireless Connection: Set the mode switch to 'BT'. The keyboard can connect to up to three devices. To pair, press and hold the Fn key along with one of the Bluetooth keys (BT1, BT2, or BT3) until the indicator light flashes, then pair from your device's Bluetooth settings.

3.3 Operating System Selection

A dedicated switch on the side of the keyboard allows you to select between Mac and PC operating system layouts. Ensure the switch is set to the correct operating system for proper key function.

3.4 Adjustable Feet

The keyboard features three adjustable feet positions (4°, 6°, or 9° tilt) to provide ergonomic comfort. Adjust the feet to your preferred typing angle.

4. Operation

4.1 Basic Key Functions

The 75% layout includes all essential function (F) keys. Refer to the keycap legends for specific functions. The keyboard is compatible with standard typing and gaming applications.

4.2 RGB Backlighting

The keyboard features full RGB backlighting with various color options and 4 light modes. Use the designated key combinations (typically Fn + arrow keys or other specific keys) to cycle through lighting effects, adjust brightness, and change colors. Consult the quick start guide for specific key combinations.

4.3 Hot-Swappable Switches and Keycaps

The Azio Cascade keyboard allows for easy customization of switches and keycaps. It is compatible with Cherry MX and equivalent mechanical switches. Use the provided keycap and switch puller tools for removal and installation.

  • Keycap Removal: Use the keycap puller to gently grip and lift keycaps straight up.
  • Switch Removal: Use the switch puller to depress the two clips on the top and bottom of the switch, then gently pull the switch upwards.
  • Installation: Align the new switch pins with the holes on the PCB and press down firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent. Place keycaps onto the switch stems.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the keyboard, first disconnect it from power. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps using the provided tool and use compressed air to clear debris from between switches. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2 Switch and Keycap Replacement

As detailed in Section 4.3, switches and keycaps can be replaced. Ensure proper alignment and gentle force during installation to prevent damage to switch pins or PCB sockets.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard Not Responding:
    • Ensure the connectivity switch (USB/OFF/BT) is in the correct position.
    • For wired connection, check the USB-C cable and port.
    • For Bluetooth, ensure the keyboard is charged and correctly paired to the selected BT channel (BT1, BT2, or BT3). Try re-pairing if issues persist.
    • Verify the operating system switch (Mac/PC) is set correctly.
  • RGB Lights Not Working/Stuck:
    • Check keyboard power and battery level.
    • Cycle through lighting modes and brightness settings using the designated key combinations.
    • If a specific key's LED is stuck, ensure the switch is fully seated and not damaged.
  • Keys Not Registering:
    • Ensure the keycap and switch are properly installed.
    • If using hot-swappable switches, remove and re-insert the switch to ensure proper contact.
    • Test with a wired connection to rule out wireless interference.
  • Short Battery Life:
    • Reduce RGB brightness or turn off backlighting to conserve battery.
    • Ensure the keyboard is fully charged before use.
    • If the issue persists, contact support.
