5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Gas Spring Tension

The gas spring mechanism allows for smooth height adjustment. To ensure proper function and stability, adjust the tension according to your monitor's weight:

  • If the monitor sags, turn the adjustment screw (usually located on the arm joint) clockwise ('+') to increase tension for heavier monitors.
  • If the monitor springs up too easily, turn the adjustment screw counter-clockwise ('-') to reduce tension for lighter monitors.
  • Always press the arm to a horizontal position before making tension adjustments.

5.2 Positional Adjustments

The mount offers versatile adjustments for optimal viewing comfort:

  • Tilt: Adjust your monitor +90°/-45° vertically to reduce glare and optimize viewing angles.
  • Swivel: Swivel your monitors 180° horizontally to share your screen with others or adjust for different tasks.
  • Rotate: Rotate your monitors 360° from landscape to portrait mode for coding, document viewing, or specific applications.
  • Height: The gas spring arms allow for smooth vertical height adjustment up to a maximum height of 20 inches.
  • Extension: Extend the arms forward up to 22.8 inches to bring your monitors closer or push them back to maximize desk space.

5.4 Monitor Configurations

The dual arms allow for various monitor setups to suit your workflow:

  • Stacked Mode: For monitors less than 24 inches, you can stack them vertically to save horizontal space.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the mount surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Periodic Checks: Regularly check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Re-tighten if necessary.
  • Gas Spring: The gas spring is designed for long-term use and generally requires no maintenance. If adjustments become difficult, re-check monitor weight and tension settings.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Monitor Sags or Drops: Increase the gas spring tension by turning the adjustment screw clockwise. Ensure your monitor's weight does not exceed the arm's capacity.
  • Monitor Floats Up Too Easily: Decrease the gas spring tension by turning the adjustment screw counter-clockwise.
  • Mount is Unstable: Ensure the C-clamp or grommet mount is securely tightened to the desk. Verify desk thickness compatibility.
  • Difficulty Moving Arms: Check if the gas spring tension is too high for lighter monitors. Lubrication is generally not required for gas springs.
  • VESA Plate Not Attaching Securely: Ensure you are using the correct VESA screw size for your monitor and that the plate is aligned correctly with the arm's mounting head.
