Important Safety Information

• Read all instructions before use.
• Do not use while sleeping.
• Burns may occur regardless of control setting. Check the skin under the pad frequently to avoid burning and blistering.
• Do not use on an infant or an animal.
• This pad is not to be used by or on an invalid, sleeping, or unconscious person, or a person with poor blood circulation unless carefully attended.
• Do not use on skin areas of sensitive skin.
• Never use pad without the removable cover in place.
• Do not use in an oxygen enriched environment or near equipment which stores/emits oxygen.
• Place pad on top of and not under the part of the body needing heat.
• Do not sit on, or against, or crush pad. Avoid sharp folds.
• Do not put this pad in a microwave.
• Never pull this pad by the supply cord. Do not use cord as a handle.
• Unplug when not in use.
• Carefully examine inner vinyl cover before each use. Discard the pad if vinyl covering shows any signs of deterioration (such as blistering or cracking).
• Loop cord loosely when storing as tight wrapping may damage cord and internal parts.
• This unit should not be used by children without adult supervision.
• Do not tamper with this pad in any way.
• Never use pins or other metallic means to fasten this pad in place.
• There are no user-serviceable parts. If for any reason this pad does not function satisfactorily, return it directly to the manufacturer for repair or replacement.
• Do not use this pad with liniment, salve or ointment preparations, especially ones that contain heat-producing ingredients, as skin burns may result.
• Never leave the heating pad unattended, especially if children are present.
• Do not bend or pinch cord; do not use if cord is damaged.
• Use this pad only on a 120 volt AC circuit.

Package Contents

Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the heating pad and all accessories from the packaging.
2. Attach Cover: Ensure the plush cover is securely placed over the heating pad. The cover is designed to prevent direct contact with the heating element and should always be used.
3. Position Pad: Place the heating pad on the desired area of your body. Ensure the pad is not folded, crushed, or placed under your body.
4. Connect to Power: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

1. Turn On: Press the 'ON/OFF' button on the digital controller to turn on the heating pad. The display will illuminate.
2. Adjust Temperature: Use the 'TEMP' up and down arrows to select your desired heat level. The temperature range is from 110°F to 160°F. The current temperature will be displayed on the screen.
3. Set Timer: Press the 'TIMER' button to cycle through the automatic shut-off options: 30 minutes or 60 minutes. The selected time will be indicated on the display. The pad will automatically turn off after the set time.
4. Turn Off: To manually turn off the heating pad, press the 'ON/OFF' button again. Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet when not in use.

Moist Heat Application

For enhanced therapeutic benefits, the TheraCare heating pad can be used with moist heat. Follow these steps:

1. Dampen Cover: Lightly dampen the removable plush cover with water. Ensure the cover is moist but not dripping wet.
2. Place Cover: Securely place the damp cover over the heating pad.
3. Apply: Apply the heating pad with the damp cover to the desired area of your body.
4. Operate: Follow the standard operating instructions to turn on and adjust the heat settings.

Care and Maintenance

1. Unplug: Always unplug the heating pad from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. Remove Cover: Detach the plush cover from the heating pad.
3. Wash Cover: The plush cover is machine washable. Wash on a gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Do not bleach or iron.
4. Clean Pad: The heating pad itself is wipeable. Use a damp cloth to gently clean the surface if necessary. Do not immerse the heating pad in water.
5. Storage: When not in use, store the heating pad with the cord loosely coiled. Avoid tight wrapping, which can damage the cord and internal parts. Store in a cool, dry location.
