2. Setup

2.1 Powering the Scale

The scale can be powered by batteries for portable use or by an optional 9V adapter for stationary operation.

Battery Installation:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 4 C batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Using the 9V Adapter (Sold Separately):

If using the optional 9V adapter, plug it into the designated port on the scale and then into a standard electrical outlet. The scale will automatically switch to adapter power when connected.

2.2 Placement:

Place the scale on a flat, stable, and level surface to ensure accurate readings. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in areas with excessive vibrations.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Weighing:

1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scale.
2. Wait for the display to show "0.0" or "0.00".
3. Place the item to be weighed on the center of the stainless-steel platform.
4. Read the weight displayed on the LCD screen.

3.2 Taring Function:

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or to measure multiple ingredients consecutively in the same container.

1. Place an empty container on the scale platform. The display will show its weight.
2. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.0" or "0.00".
3. Add the ingredient(s) to the container. The display will show only the net weight of the added item(s).
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for additional ingredients.

3.3 Unit Conversion:

To switch between different units of measurement (e.g., pounds, ounces, kilograms, grams), press the UNIT or MODE button. The available units will cycle through with each press.

3.4 Display Hold Function:

The display hold feature allows you to lock the weight reading on the screen, even after removing the item from the scale. This is useful for large or awkwardly shaped items that might obscure the display.

1. Place the item on the scale.
2. Press the HOLD button. The displayed weight will be locked.
3. Remove the item. The weight will remain on the display.
4. Press the HOLD button again to clear the display and return to normal weighing mode.
