4. Setup and Connection
The Eyoyo barcode scanner offers three connection methods: 2.4G Wireless, Bluetooth, and USB Wired. Choose the method that best suits your needs.
4.1. 2.4G Wireless Connection
This method uses the included USB dongle for wireless communication with your computer.
- Plug the 2.4G USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer.
- Scan the "2.4G Wireless Connection" setup barcode found in your user manual.

4.2. Bluetooth Connection
This method is ideal for connecting to smartphones, tablets, or computers with built-in Bluetooth.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your host device (phone, tablet, computer).
- Scan the "Bluetooth Connection" setup barcode found in your user manual. The blue light on the scanner will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
- On your host device, search for Bluetooth devices and select "EY-034 HID_FA7F" (or similar) to pair.
- Once connected, the blue light on the scanner will stay on. Test by scanning a barcode into a text field.
4.3. USB Wired Connection
For a direct and stable connection, use the provided USB cable.
- Connect one end of the USB cable to the scanner and the other end to a USB port on your computer.
- The scanner will be recognized as a keyboard input device. No special drivers are typically required.
- The scanner will also charge via the USB connection.
- Test by scanning a barcode into any text input area.
5. Operating Modes
The scanner supports different operating and data upload modes to optimize workflow.
5.1. Scanning Modes
You can switch between manual and automatic scanning modes by scanning specific setup codes in your manual.
- Manual Trigger Mode: The scanner reads a barcode only when the trigger button is pressed. This is the default mode.
- Automatic Scanning Mode: The scanner automatically detects and scans barcodes placed within its scanning range without requiring a trigger press. This mode is useful for hands-free operation, especially when using the stand.

5.2. Upload Modes
The scanner offers two data upload modes:
- Instant Upload Mode: This is the default mode. Barcode data is immediately transmitted to the connected device upon scanning.
- Storage Mode: When out of connection range, the scanner can store up to 40,000 barcodes in its internal memory. Data can be uploaded to the connected device later by scanning a specific "Upload Data" barcode. Remember to clear stored data after successful upload if you intend to use storage mode again.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your barcode scanner.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the scanner's exterior. For the scanning window, use a lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner if necessary. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Battery Care: The scanner features a 2500mAh battery. For best battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device using the provided USB cable.
- Storage: Store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Durability: The scanner is designed to withstand drops of up to 2 meters (10 ft) and has an IP54 sealing for dust and splash resistance. However, avoid intentional drops or exposure to excessive moisture.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your scanner, please refer to the following common solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Scanner not connecting/pairing. | Incorrect mode, out of range, low battery, host device Bluetooth off. | Ensure scanner is in correct connection mode (2.4G/Bluetooth). Check battery level. Ensure host device Bluetooth is on and discoverable. Move closer to the host device. |
| Scanned data not appearing. | Not connected, incorrect application focus, barcode damaged/unreadable. | Verify connection status (blue light solid). Ensure cursor is in a text input field. Try scanning a different, known good barcode. Check if the barcode symbology is supported. |
| Scanner beeps but no data. | Connection issue, host device not ready. | Reconnect the scanner. Ensure the host device is awake and ready to receive input. |
| Automatic scanning not working. | Not in automatic mode, object too far/close. | Scan the "Automatic Scanning Mode" setup barcode. Adjust the distance of the barcode from the scanner. |
| Data not uploading from storage mode. | Not connected, "Upload Data" barcode not scanned. | Ensure the scanner is connected to the host device. Scan the "Upload Data" barcode from your manual. |
