This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your VIVOHOME Pressurized Biological Pond Filter. Setup Instructions

1. Placement: Position the filter unit on a stable, level surface near your pond. Ensure it is easily accessible for maintenance and that the power cable for the UV lamp can reach a suitable outdoor power outlet.
2. Hose Connection:
   • Identify the inlet and outlet ports on the filter. The inlet typically connects to your pond pump, and the outlet returns filtered water to the pond.
   • Attach appropriate hoses (not included) to the inlet and outlet ports using the provided 3/4" or 1" adapters. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.
   • For the sewage outlet, connect a separate hose to direct dirty water away during cleaning cycles.
3. UV Lamp Connection: Connect the UV lamp's power cord to a grounded outdoor electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for safety.
4. Initial Priming: Before starting the pump, ensure the filter unit is filled with water. This can be achieved by allowing water from the pond to flow into the filter via gravity or by manually filling it.
5. Power On: Once all connections are secure and the filter is primed, turn on your pond pump. Then, activate the UV lamp.

Operating Instructions

The VIVOHOME pond filter is designed for continuous operation to maintain optimal pond water quality. Ensure your pond pump is running to circulate water through the filter.

Function Switch Operation

The blue switch on the top of the unit controls the water flow direction:

• Filter Mode (Clean Water Output): In this mode, water passes through the filter sponges and UV lamp, and clean water is returned to the pond. This is the standard operating mode.
• Sewage/Cleaning Mode: When performing maintenance, switch to this mode to direct dirty water from the cleaning process out through the sewage outlet.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your pond filter. The VIVOHOME filter is designed for convenient cleaning.

Internal Cleaning (Backwash)

The integrated crank handle allows for easy cleaning of the filter sponges without disassembling the unit:

1. Ensure the pond pump is running.
2. Rotate the function switch to the "Sewage" or "Cleaning" position. This diverts the water flow to the sewage outlet.
3. Turn the crank handle on top of the filter unit. This action moves the internal cleaning rod, agitating the filter sponges and dislodging accumulated debris. Continue cranking until the water flowing from the sewage outlet appears clear.
4. Once cleaning is complete, rotate the function switch back to the "Filter" position to resume normal operation.

UV Lamp and Sponge Replacement

Periodically, the UV lamp and filter sponges will need replacement to maintain optimal performance. Refer to the product packaging or manufacturer's website for compatible replacement parts.

• UV Lamp: The UV lamp typically has an effective lifespan of 8,000 to 9,000 hours (approximately 1 year of continuous use). Replace annually or if you notice a decrease in water clarity despite regular filter cleaning. Always disconnect power before accessing the UV lamp.
• Filter Sponges: While designed for long-term use and easy cleaning, sponges may degrade over time or become too clogged to clean effectively. Replace them when they show signs of wear or if filtration efficiency significantly drops.
