5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Delclynee Hat Heat Press Machine:
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Placement: Place the heat press on a sturdy, flat, and heat-resistant surface in a well-ventilated area. Ensure there is enough space around the machine for safe operation.
- Install Lower Platen: The machine comes with two interchangeable lower platens. Select the appropriate platen for your project (6.7"x3.8" or 6.7"x2.5") and ensure it is securely seated.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the machine's power input, then plug the other end into a standard 110V grounded electrical outlet.
6. Operating Instructions
This section outlines the general operation of your heat press machine. Always refer to the specific instructions provided by your transfer media supplier for optimal results.
- Power On: Locate the red power switch on the side of the machine and flip it to the 'ON' position. The digital display will illuminate.
- Set Temperature: Use the 'TEMP' up and down arrow buttons on the control panel to set your desired temperature. The display will show the current temperature rising. Once the set temperature is reached, the machine will sound 5 beeps to indicate it is ready.
- Set Time: Use the 'TIME' up and down arrow buttons to set your desired pressing duration in seconds.
- Prepare Hat: Place the hat onto the lower platen. Adjust the cap stretcher (if needed) to ensure the area to be pressed is flat and smooth on the platen. Position your transfer material onto the hat as desired.
- Pressing: Firmly pull down the handle to engage the heating plate with the hat and transfer material. The timer will begin counting down automatically.
- Completion: Once the set time has elapsed, the machine will beep to signal the end of the pressing cycle.
- Release: Lift the handle to release the pressure and raise the heating plate.
- Remove Hat: Carefully remove the hat from the platen. Follow your transfer material's instructions for hot or cold peel.
6.1 Time and Temperature Suggestion Table
The following table provides general reference guidelines. Always follow the transfer media supplier's instructions for best results.

Figure 6.1: General Time and Temperature Suggestions
| Transfer Type | Temperature | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Hot Split Supplier Transfers | 350-375°F | 8-10 secs |
| Puff Transfers | 350-375°F | 5-7 secs (extra heavy pressure) |
| Ink-Jet Transfer Papers | 360°F | 15-18 secs |
| ColorCopy/Laser Transfer Papers | 375°F | 20-25 secs |
| Sublimation Inks (Polyester Fabrics) | 400°F | 35 secs |
| Sublimation Inks (Plastics) | 400°F | 1 min, 15 secs |
| Sublimation Inks (Metals) | 400°F | 1 min |
| Sublimation Inks (Woods) | 400°F | 1 min, 15 secs |
| Sublimation Inks (Ceramics) | 400°F | 4 min |
Note: Pre-printing tests are recommended to find the optimal temperature and time settings for your specific materials and transfers. The temperature must be high enough to activate the transfer adhesive or ink but not so high as to scorch or damage the garment.

7. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your heat press machine:
- Cleaning: Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe down the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Heating Plate: For stubborn residue on the heating plate, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for heat press platens. Avoid scratching the surface.
- Lower Platen: The silicone lower platen can be wiped clean. Ensure it is free of debris or adhesive residue that could affect future presses.
- Storage: When not in use, store the machine in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine does not power on. | Power cord not connected; Power switch off; Outlet issue. | Ensure power cord is securely plugged in. Flip power switch to 'ON'. Test outlet with another device. |
| Machine heats up but does not reach set temperature. | Incorrect temperature setting; Environmental factors. | Verify temperature setting. Allow more time for heating in cold environments. |
| Transfer is not adhering properly. | Insufficient temperature or time; Uneven pressure; Incorrect material. | Increase temperature/time slightly (refer to transfer instructions). Ensure firm, even pressure. Verify transfer material compatibility. |
| Scorching or marked lines on material. | Too high temperature or too long time; Uneven hat placement. | Reduce temperature/time. Ensure hat is flat on the platen. Use a protective sheet. |
| Hat is wrinkled after pressing. | Improper hat placement; Structured hat not conforming. | Ensure hat is stretched smoothly over the platen. For structured hats, ensure the pressing area is flat. Consider using the smaller platen for low-profile caps. |
