Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your DAIWA S400 Leoblitz Electric Reel. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper operation and to prevent damage or injury. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
The DAIWA S400 Leoblitz is a versatile 400-size electric reel designed for various fishing targets, including Madai, Squid, Seabowl, Mackerel, and Flounder. It features a power lever for precise winding speed control, synchronous level wind for efficient line management, and super spool free for quick deployment. This reel is designed for use with PE line only.
Product Features
The DAIWA S400 Leoblitz electric reel incorporates several advanced features for enhanced fishing performance:
- Power Lever: Provides precise and instantaneous control over the winding speed, allowing for fine adjustments during retrieval.
- Synchronous Level Wind: Ensures the fishing line is evenly distributed across the spool during both retrieval and deployment, preventing tangles and optimizing casting performance.
- Super Spool Free: Enables extremely smooth and rapid line payout, crucial for quickly reaching target depths.
- FF Motor Structure: A compact and efficient motor design that contributes to the reel's overall maneuverability and balanced feel in hand.
- CRBB (Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings): Equipped with specialized bearings designed to resist corrosion, extending the reel's lifespan in harsh marine environments.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for a wide array of fishing techniques and target species, including Madai, Squid, Seabowl, Mackerel, and Flounder.
- PE Line Only: Optimized for use exclusively with PE (braided polyethylene) fishing lines.

Setup
- Attach to Rod: Securely attach the electric reel to your fishing rod's reel seat. Ensure it is firmly seated to prevent movement during use.
- Spooling Line: Carefully spool the appropriate PE fishing line onto the reel. Ensure the line is evenly distributed and not overfilled. Refer to the specifications for recommended line capacities.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the reel and to a compatible 12V DC power source (e.g., a marine battery). Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) to avoid damage. The power cable typically has red and black clips for connection.

Maintenance
- Rinse After Use: After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse the reel thoroughly with fresh water. Do not submerge the reel.
- Drying: Allow the reel to air dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of reel oil to moving parts and grease to gears as recommended by DAIWA. Avoid over-lubrication.
- Storage: Store the reel in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Line Inspection: Regularly inspect your PE line for wear, fraying, or damage. Replace line as needed.
Troubleshooting
- Reel not powering on:
- - Check the power cable connection to both the reel and the battery. Ensure clips are securely attached and polarity is correct.
- - Verify the battery has sufficient charge.
- Line not winding smoothly:
- - Inspect the line for twists or damage. Re-spool if necessary.
- - Check for any obstructions in the level wind mechanism.
- Unusual noises during operation:
- - Discontinue use and inspect the reel for any loose parts or foreign objects. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
