Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your LFGUD Hydraulic Power Unit, model D0071C0008. This single-acting hydraulic pump features a 2.2KW 220V motor and a 16-quart (4-gallon) plastic reservoir, designed for applications requiring power-up and gravity-down functionality, such as vehicle lifts and various lifting platforms.

Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the unit to ensure proper usage and to prevent damage or injury. Keep this manual for future reference.

Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent personal injury or damage to the equipment:

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the unit's requirements (220V). Disconnect power before performing any maintenance or installation. All electrical connections should be made by a qualified electrician.
  • Hydraulic Fluid: Use only recommended hydraulic fluid. Avoid skin contact with hydraulic fluid; wear appropriate protective gear. Dispose of used fluid responsibly.
  • Pressure Safety: Hydraulic systems operate under high pressure. Never attempt to disconnect hydraulic lines or components while the system is under pressure. Ensure the relief valve is properly set and functioning.
  • Stable Mounting: Mount the power unit securely on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping or movement during operation.
  • Clearance: Maintain adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation and access.
  • Unauthorized Modifications: Do not modify the hydraulic power unit. Unauthorized modifications can compromise safety and void the warranty.

Product Overview

The LFGUD Hydraulic Power Unit D0071C0008 is a compact and efficient system designed for single-acting hydraulic applications. Key components include:

  • Electric Motor: 2.2KW, 220V, 3450 RPM, single-phase motor provides the power for the hydraulic pump.
  • Hydraulic Pump: Generates hydraulic pressure for lifting operations.
  • Plastic Reservoir: 16-quart (4-gallon) capacity for hydraulic fluid storage.
  • Control Handle: Manual lever for controlling the gravity-down function.
  • Start Button: Activates the electric motor for lifting.
  • Relief Valve: Ensures system safety by preventing over-pressurization.

Setup

The LFGUD Hydraulic Power Unit is designed for straightforward installation. It comes fully assembled, simplifying the setup process.

  1. Mounting: Securely mount the power unit to a stable, flat surface using appropriate fasteners. Ensure the unit is level and has sufficient clearance for maintenance and operation.
  2. Hydraulic Connections: Connect the hydraulic lines from your application (e.g., car lift) to the appropriate ports on the power unit. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free. Extra connectors are provided for replacement or specific application needs.
  3. Electrical Wiring: Connect the power unit to a 220V single-phase electrical supply. Refer to the wiring diagram provided with the unit for correct connections. It is recommended that a qualified electrician performs the electrical wiring.
  4. Fill Reservoir: Before first use, ensure the hydraulic reservoir is filled with the recommended hydraulic fluid to the appropriate level. Do not overfill.

Operating Instructions

This single-acting hydraulic power unit provides power-up and gravity-down functionality.

  1. To Lift (Power Up):

Press and hold the green Start Button (refer to Figure 4). The electric motor will activate, and the hydraulic pump will generate pressure, causing the connected hydraulic cylinder(s) to extend and lift the load. Release the button to stop lifting at the desired height.

  2. To Lower (Gravity Down):

Pull the Control Handle (refer to Figure 4). This opens the return valve, allowing hydraulic fluid to flow back into the reservoir, and the load will lower under gravity. Release the handle to stop lowering.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable performance of your hydraulic power unit.

  • Hydraulic Fluid Level: Regularly check the hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir. Refill as necessary with the recommended type of hydraulic fluid.
  • Fluid Quality: Periodically inspect the hydraulic fluid for contamination or degradation. Replace fluid according to manufacturer recommendations or if it appears discolored or contains particles.
  • Leak Inspection: Inspect all hydraulic lines, fittings, and seals for any signs of leaks. Address leaks immediately to prevent fluid loss and system inefficiency.
  • Electrical Connections: Check electrical connections for tightness and signs of corrosion.
  • General Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the power unit clean and free from dust and debris to ensure proper heat dissipation.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your hydraulic power unit.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Motor does not start. No power supply; faulty wiring; motor overload.Check power connection and circuit breaker. Verify wiring according to diagram. Allow motor to cool if overloaded.
Pump does not lift load or lifts slowly.Low hydraulic fluid level; air in system; clogged filter; relief valve set too low; internal pump wear; leaks in hydraulic lines.Check and refill hydraulic fluid. Bleed air from the system. Inspect and clean/replace filter. Adjust relief valve (consult a professional). Inspect for leaks and repair.
Load lowers without activating control handle.Leaking check valve; faulty lowering valve; external leaks.Inspect and replace faulty valves. Check for external leaks and repair.
Excessive noise during operation.Low fluid level; air in system; cavitation; worn pump bearings.Check fluid level and refill. Bleed air from the system. Ensure proper fluid viscosity. Consult a professional for worn components.
Hydraulic fluid leaks.Loose fittings; damaged seals; cracked reservoir.Tighten all fittings. Replace damaged seals or O-rings. Inspect reservoir for cracks and replace if necessary.
