Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
- To start the jig saw, depress the trigger switch.
- To stop the jig saw, release the trigger switch.
- For continuous operation, engage the lock-on button (if available) while the trigger is depressed. To disengage, depress the trigger fully and release.
2. Variable Speed Control
The variable speed dial allows you to adjust the cutting speed for different materials and applications.
- Rotate the dial to increase or decrease the blade speed.
- Lower speeds are suitable for cutting metal or intricate curves.
- Higher speeds are suitable for cutting wood or faster straight cuts.
3. Orbital Settings
The four orbital settings provide different cutting actions for various materials and desired cut quality.
- Setting 0 (No Orbit): For fine, precise cuts in wood, plastic, or metal.
- Settings 1-3 (Increasing Orbit): For faster, more aggressive cuts in wood. Higher settings provide quicker material removal but may result in a rougher cut.
- Adjust the orbital setting based on the material and the desired finish.
4. LED Worklight
The on-board LED worklight illuminates the workspace, providing clear visibility of the cut line.
- The LED light activates automatically when the trigger is depressed.
5. Cutting Techniques
- Starting a Cut: Place the front edge of the shoe flat on the workpiece. Start the saw before the blade contacts the material.
- Straight Cuts: Guide the saw along a marked line, applying steady, even pressure.
- Curve Cuts: Use a narrower blade for tighter curves. Guide the saw slowly, allowing the blade to follow the curve.
- Plunge Cuts: For internal cuts without a pilot hole, tilt the saw forward so the front of the shoe rests on the workpiece and the blade is clear. Start the saw and slowly pivot it down until the blade plunges through the material.
